I also remember back in the late 00's a lot of charts being made for the PC version of Guitar Hero 3. I played a lot of custom tracks that way way back in the day.

When i moved from Providence, RI to Los Angeles a little over a decade ago, learning apartments there generally didn't include a refrigerator was a bit of culture shock. I couldn't imagine buying a full size fridge and having to lug that around from apartment to apartment with each move- and luckily I found a place that had all appliances included and stayed there during my 5 years living in LA . All that's to say- yes, indeed you guys were correct when you said it was Los Angeles that apartments weren't guaranteed to come with a fridge.
