Implementing your suggestions

This last week I started implementing in DST some of the suggestions & feedback I have received from you, and some of them are looking really cool.
The last one I received is from RedKnight00, which told me, among other things, that it would be great to have different icons for every area of the Death Star. And as you can see in the main pic of the post. I love the result so much that I hope to be able to implement it in the next v0.4 releases.
Wait, Did you say we can tell you what do we want?
Of course you can, and you MUST!
When you create a project like this, so big and comples, and you are so deep in it, sometimes it is hard to realize how to improve it.
For that reason, I am always asking you to send me feedback. It's not just because the word "feedback" looks good in my posts (hell it does!), but also because I really value your feedback.
Never hesitate to contact me on Discord or fill the Feedback Form and tell me what do you think about my game, what do you miss and what would you improve. Even if you think it may be silly, it can be very helpful and make me realize what are your needs and develop ways to fulfill them. And I will always read all your demands & reply you asap.
Some of them will be harder to implement, and some others will be more "doable", but I will consider and put all of them in my "Suggestions List".
I am waiting for your Suggestions, Changes & Improvements.
What's in the Suggestion List right now?
If you are curious about what are the things that other people requested, or you want to add more requests in it, you're more than welcome.
Here you have the list:
- [DONE] Watch Slaves after Setting them: When you finish to set up the Slave Performances in the canteen, you will be able to, just after the "confirmation button", be able to "Watch Slaves" directly from that same area. This way we reduce the number of clicks and it's more straight forward.
- [DONE] Create another Menu without the red button first: In conversations, when you have to pick between different choices, the first one is usually "go back", and the button is red. However, in other conversations where you don't have the "Go Back" option, the first button is still red and it is confusing. Can you create another one without the "first red button" for those situations?
- [DONE] Icons for every Area of the Death Star: The main menu is a mess, a lot of red dots and unless you click with the mouse, you don't know where they go. Can't you place a distinctive icon for every area? Something people will recognize at first sight instead of making us memorize the whole map.
- [DONE] Quickbar access to Death Star Areas: Sometimes I am in the Canteen and I want to go to another area, but the game forces me to go there through the main map. Some other games have a Quickbar with shortcuts to other areas of the building. Can you do this?
- Keypad shortcuts for Menus: If you ever played Mass Effect, you will remember that you were able to select dialog & menu choices just by clicking the keys in the numpad. Can you add that to Death Star Trainer?
ANSWER: It can be done, but to avoid missclicking, instead of a direct confirmation, when you click on the numpad you will select a choice, and then you'll have to press "enter" to confirm. -Medium Priority- - Add the rebel Rebel Threat Cooldown in the bar of the main menu: When the rebels attack you, there's a cooldown of 7 days where they will "fest and lay down" until the rebel threat starts increasing again. Can you display that in the "Rebel Threat Bar" in the Main Map?
ANSWER: It can and will be done, but it's -low priority-. - Re-balance the economy! You have said many times that the values of the game will make sense when the core features of the game, and more girls are added, but right now the game requires a lot of grind. Can you adjust the values of the prices to make it less grindy in this stage of the development?
ANSWER: I agree that the economy is not perfectly balanced right now, and I will try to find a solution for that. I do not like the idea of changing values everytime I release a new version, so maybe I can add an extra sum of money that the Emperor will give you at the very beggining of the game. -High Priority- - Can you stop saying "become Patreon" in every WIP feature?
ANSWER: I can but, is that really annoying? I don't have a lot of means to promote my game and Patreon is key to its success. Do you rather have these a few bunch of words in-game that may help me improve the game, or it is so annoying for you that you cannot ignore it, even if that means less people being patreon, and reducing the chances of making a better game? -Low Priority- - Can you reduce the Loading times?
ANSWER: This is a very difficult task. I am working with certain pluggins that need processing time to be properly executed. I can try to cut some fractions of a second but more than that... -Medium Priority- - OK, then, if reducing Loading times is that hard, can you at least make it more "beautiful"? Right now, when the game is loading, it shows a very horrible pop-up and everything looks frozen. Mass Effect used an elevator to move between scenes. Maybe you can place an animation.
ANSWER: This is doable, and I am aware that these little details are what makes a great game, but I still have some core-features to develop. This will have to wait until I finish other priorities. -Low Priority- - Can you allow lower tiers to access the Cheat Menu? We really want them, and putting them only for the higher tier makes you look greedy. Even more when you say your game economy is still unbalanced.
ANSWER: When I created the "Cheat Menu", it was a feature that I designed just for me, and I did not considered it a part of the game. Developers usually create "god-mode" features to test their games during the development. At some point the Cheat Menu will be probably deleted. Now, be realistic: Wen have you seen a game releasing cheat menus & hacks? In fact it is just the opposite. Letting some users to get access to cheats is not greed, it is generosity. Obviously, I am not designing DST for you to cheat on it, but to have an enjoyable experience, and releasing cheats for everyone is accepting failure without remedy. I DO NOT, and I will keep doing my best to give you the game you deserve.
