I think what people "dislike" is that Jahla led on with lies/had an emotional affair with him before finally telling she had a partner (same on Rhov' side imo). But thats not really Romé's fault in my opinion. Thd other reason i could see is that Romé is pretty much out of nowhere in the sense that we dont really know much about him/his past? We know he's from earth but not much more. Its hard to like/love a character when there's nothing about him. We saw how they both hot closer many times, so the relationship development is perfect. But character wise we know nothing about Romé/most likely has been offscreen to favor more important things (which is valid). Thats only assumptions of why folks may dislike him.

2024-03-04 20:40:58 +0000 UTCI'm surprised so many people don't like Romé. I don't know why he can't just genuinely be a good person. In a comic where it seems almost everyone is morally gray or has some deeper turmoil (don't get me wrong, I LOVE the drama,) he's a breath of fresh air because he is so different from everyone else. He's not perfect, but he is a nice, supportive dude.

Mostly bc I do feel Jahla might be Romés first love and that he already crushed hard on her through the howling (like if you're fall in love with someone you just wrote with through the internet before meeting them in person). It might be that he's trying *very* hard to appear appealing to Jahla, bc when you are in love the first time you tend to do that (Rhov did that too even though he was a teenager and that's even more understandable). I agree though that we need to see real flaws from Romé moving forward and I'm sure we will. Right now I do think he's what Jahla need: Someone who just supports her, no questions asked, because there are way to many people asking everything from her.

I’m happy that Jahla is happy, though, and the page itself is beautiful. And I can’t really explain why I don’t like this couple, as honestly, there are several reasons, but I guess the main one is that, imo, Romé is just too… perfect. If that makes sense. Feels too good to be true. Like he has no flaws, or can make no mistake; or at least, not ones that actually matter, or don’t end up working in his favor, anyway. It’s not my personal taste, but clearly I’m in the minority, so… whatever. Maybe I’ll warm up to this couple as the story goes on. 😅
