I think this album has a message and it is their most meaningful album so far.
For me there is a connection between all of the songs about not allowing the hate change who they are and where they are heading.Β Although in between we get the vulnerability and how exhausting it can be with the slower songs.
By BLEEPing out the negative noise and not allowing this to change their CREED (their principles and who they are) they are not going to get dragged into hating back.Β Which translates into CEREMONY that pulls the whole album together - the story of the song and mv is that they are so busy focussing on their own growth that the hate doesn't even reach them .Β The good KARMA that this creates keeps moving them onto better things.Β Whereas those criticising them are still in the same place spewing the same old hate.
With HALF TIME, if you think they're done you haven't seen anything yet.Β PHOENIX about overcoming and rising above any future obstacles and still flying high.
I do like ceremony because it celebrates straykids' achievements.Β I also like the messaging in the mv
The way Felix just effortlessly bats the ping pong ball away to me is him batting away any hate in such a casual way ... he doesn't care and doesn't let it affect him.
Also IN playing tennis against himself ... his only opponent is himself and not those that want to pull them down.Β It is by facing himself he gets better and not by facing the people who hate.
