I know right! I totally agree. PS Dear Zachary is to date, the only movie (documentary I guess) to ever make me cry.

2014-10-06 23:14:56 +0000 UTCWoa, I was Just about to ask you about this very issue. Just fyi I understand why you wouldn't want to but I have no problems with monthly fees.
2014-10-06 22:57:46 +0000 UTCI'm happy that you're able to do this full-time and I'm glad to be a part of that. You do great work and the amount of effort you put in definitely comes across. I think it would still be better to go to a monthly cycle like RLM does. To address your concern about not having content for a month, I think you can set it up to only charge patrons if you've added a Creation that month, but if not you can definitely set a month to skip charging if you'd like, but as long as you're using the time that month to make content I wouldn't mind paying for a month where no videos come out. It would probably be a lot easier for you to figure out your timing and finances if there was a set amount you know you'd be making every month, and I'd feel fine with the idea that monthly money was going toward *you* and not some specific video you made. I bet you'd be under a lot less stress that way. At first RLM's use of monthly charging vs per-video seemed weird to me, but now I'm very comfortable with it. Because they have different types of content (HITB, BOTW, PreRec), if payment were based per-video I bet people who like one type of video and not another would find a way to be upset that they were charged for a PreRec, for instance, when they only care about HITB. Paying monthly, one just understands that they're paying to keep RLM's doors open and cameras running. Similarly, if you went to monthly, people couldn't complain about being charged for a Thoughts On when they only like straight-up YMSes. Up to you, obviously, but I just wanted to let you know that I and other backers would definitely be fine with monthly.
