Developer's Journal 2:11

Hey everybody.  I hope you have something fun planned for the New Year.  Personally, I've never been a big New Year's guy, so I'll be at home working on LDNA tonight.  But since I'm starting work on a new scene today, I decided to send out this  weekly update a bit early.

It's a year and a week since I bought my desktop and started from scratch on learning Daz3d and Ren'py.  At that time, I knew I wanted to make a game, but Leaving DNA was still just a hazy concept in my head.  I wasn't totally confident I'd even be able to learn 3D rendering or coding well enough to put a good game together.  But a year later, I've got two and a half hours of content that I'm very proud of and detailed plans for the rest of the story.  So, whatever else happened this year, I consider 2022 to have been very successful.

It is hard to give you an accurate measure of my progress in Part Two.  Render count is 552, which gives you a vague idea of how much content there is so far, but it's not super helpful.  As I said a week ago, it took me over 30 minutes to play through what I've got so far.  Part Two consists of 16 scenes plus the bonus scene.  Five scenes are completely done, and I've finished roughly 20% of the still renders for Scene 13, which is by far the largest scene in Part Two.  But including the bonus scene there will be three sex scenes, all of which will need animations that haven't been started.  So we're still a ways off.

Thank you for being patient.  It's tempting (very tempting) to do a release with just the first half of Part Two, because I'm afraid people lose interest with these long development periods, but ultimately I believe you will have the best experience if you play the entire Part Two all at once.

Happy New Year and thank you for your support!
