Developer's Journal 4:15

Hey everybody.

I'm about 800 renders into the new update. It's not where I wanted to be at this point--roughly an average of 50 per week and not even halfway done. Unfortunately, my job being busier than it had been the last two years and the need to spend extra time helping out with my sick mom have made the development pace a bit slower than I hoped.

I have talked to some devs who have told me they've got more flexibility with their day jobs. It's a bit different for me. 40 hours is a good week. 50-60 hours is common. 80+ hours does happen. So work on Leaving DNA has to happen after all of that and my other life obligations. I still work on the game seven days a week and there's never been a question the game will get finished, but unfortunately I can't put out updates as quickly as could if I were a wealthy man of leisure.

I am still hoping to wed a very rich supermodel who will continue to work and bring in the big bucks so I can quit my day job and spend all my time developing the game (in addition to making sweet, sweet love to her, obviously). I'm not sure which supermodel yet, but there are a fair number to choose from, so I'm optimistic.

Well, that's all for this week. Thank you for your support!

You gotta do what you gotta do man, and it's already amazing you find the time to work on this game with so much going on. Just don't burn out, take care of yourself also. Less busy times will come, in the meantime just do what you can and focus on your priorities in life. Your fantasy woman is very specific btw 🤣🤣

I hope you do not find that supermodel too quick or I am afraid all work will come to a standstill 🤪. On a more serious note, the amount of dedication it takes to have a full time job, taking care of your mom, and doing something like an AVN is truly impressive. Even those doing this full time have trouble and some even have whole teams working on it. Despite that, most of them do not have a story that turns out nearly as good as this one.

Huge respect, Monk. You've gotta do everything you can for your Mom, I hope she will recover. I wish you to make game dev. your full time job one day. Thanks for the update

After getting a glimpse of how much work it is to create an AVN, I have the utmost respect for people who do this alongside a full-time job and all their other commitments, often at the expense of all their free time. I very much doubt that I could do something like this for any extended period of time. So I appreciate every bit of time you can put in. Thank you. And realistic dreams are so boring, but you never know, anything is possible, so fingers crossed. ;-)

No rush, Monk -- certainly not on your supporters' account. Our support is not predicated on a schedule.
