September 2019 Newsletter

Hello friends and neighbors!

Apologies for the delay and lack of newsletter last month. Since Danni took a step back, there has been a lot of reorganization and reconfiguration in the world of Ranged Touch. A lot of that has been infrastructural so that CMRN can more cleanly and easily deliver that sweet, sweet content right into your eyes and ears. And that's done! So things should be a lot smoother heading into the fall.

Some updates on the wild and wacky world of Ranged Touch:

+ Game Studies Study Buddies continues at-pace, releasing an episode a month and generally just having a great time. We've done recent episodes on CLR James' BEYOND A BOUNDARY and Christopher Paul's WORDPLAY. You can see those on the list of episodes. We're a little behind with releasing notes, but all extant notes will be appearing soon.

+ SWORD COAST: COAST 2 COAST is releasing its 20th episode tomorrow, and I think it is one of the best things we've ever been involved with. Really complex, emotional storytelling peppered with some silliness and a stinky little death halfling. If you're not listening, you could be! 

+ After some rocky streaming weeks, CMRN is back at it with FINAL FANTASY VII every Thursday from 7-10 PM EST. Check out twitch.tv/rangedtouch at that time to check it out, and if not, you can catch the archive every weekend.

+ Tonight I also released the intro for TOO MUCH FUTURE, our show about the FALLOUT games. The first episode will release next week. You can watch that trailer here:  https://twitter.com/ckunzelman/status/1169037284416659456 

The current plan is to release it both on YouTube and as a podcast. We've put a lot of effort and time into the show, and it is really funny and genuinely interesting. I hope.

+ The monthly podcast at the $5 tier is proving hard to manage, and CMRN has the idea of doing something weird with it. Instead of being a podcast, it would be an LP of VICE CITY where each episode has a different guest on it to deliver some comedy and really just have a chat about what's happening on-screen and in their lives. It would be a Patreon exclusive for a month or so before releasing to the public at large. Opinions on this? Would you prefer something else at the $5 tier, or even just a return to the normal podcast? Feedback welcome -- either message here, comment down below, or PM on the Discord please!
