Auto-scrolling dropdown lists
Added 2023-02-01 01:05:00 +0000 UTCFollowing the recent update, several people reported not liking how the new dropdowns work. Context : I introduced them in order to facilitate navigation without requiring the use of the scrollbars but obviously the behavior is counter-intuitive for all those accustomed to using mouse scrolling.
To remedy the situation, I just released a new version (moulinette core 10.5.0) which allows to choose the drop-down list mode in the configuration. I take this opportunity to poll if some of you like the new drop-down lists. Otherwise, I'll probably remove them completely.
Which drop-down list mode do you prefer?

2023-02-04 01:18:52 +0000 UTCI think it depends on HOW much content you have access to. If you have access to just a few Patreons the old version does its job. But after a reasonable amount of content, you really get overwhelmed by the time you need to find the stuff you are looking for. I really like the new version better.

Please do not remove it :D Make default behaviour, well, default, if you think that's the best, but please do not remove auto-scrolling option :)

2023-02-01 09:51:32 +0000 UTCi liked the static nature of the new lists, but now I don't see any packs from my patreons where yesterday, it was impossible to scroll, but the packs were visible. I have downloaded the update in forge and rebooted and still has the same result-- I see no content now, but I like how the dropdown lists work now. what do i need to do to get the packs to show?

The funny thing is that it was inspired by CSS Tricks for long dropdowns : https://css-tricks.com/examples/LongDropdowns/ But I agree that with very long lists, it's very hard to select something. During my tests, I had to use UP/DOWN keys when I missed the right entry.

2023-02-01 02:20:48 +0000 UTCI think the main issue with autoscrolling is that it depends a lot on how many packs you have for a particular artist. My local moulinette folder has close to 200 packs for certain artists and at that point the autoscroll is completely unusable.
