JB I think about that when stuff like this comes up and….it drives me nuts! I think we should implement mandatory 2 year military service and I would bet Americans would have a greater appreciation on what it means to be American. That’s my opinion anyway 🤷‍♂️

Wait till Ben Franklin learns of how he and everyone he knows is being taught about in college and history books today .

It's forced national mourning for the next 10 days here while the major channels have 24-hour coverage, radio stations can't play anything too cheerful, and the shops are silent as there's no music to be played. I can't watch it. I see this as an opportunity to abolish the monarchy which won't happen. While thousands of elderly will die this year because of the energy crisis, the government says there's no money to help them but will spend millions on the funeral and then further millions on the coronation. The sycophants are trying to outdo each other but being dead doesn't suddenly make someone a good person.

I wonder how Britain is going to change in the weeks/months/years to come? This is truly the end of an era. I'm sure JB has more than a few thoughts on this subject. This could be a series.

This reminds me of a particularly miserable night from my childhood. During a dark and dreary family crisis, my brother and I were under the inept care of our father. We kept turning the TV dial for something entertaining to distract us from an ugly situation, but every channel was occupied by a fucking wedding for some dumbo-eared prince and a blond lady with short hair. That alone was enough for me to hate monarchies and the media for inflicting such irrelevant crap upon us.

It boggled my mind especially up here where you can't turn a corner without a plaque saying George Washington drank a big gulp here.

And then he'd remember he's on the $100 bill and live happily ever after
