ScathingAtheist 286 - "Not Stabbing Can't Get Mad" Edition
Added 2018-08-08 20:54:09 +0000 UTCThe good news about the trip to Chicago is that we had to record everything early and that means you get the episode earlier than usual. The bad news is we were crazy busy and didn't have time to add much Patreon only content. We'll make up for it when we get back, promise.

I'm getting ready to cover the atheist booth at the Kentucky State Fair. That diatribe was just what I needed. I listened to it several times for inspiration. Thanks, Noah.

2018-08-09 04:04:31 +0000 UTCRegarding Fundie Gun Ownership: You’re surprised? You’ve watched dozens of movies for GAM that posit a world where insidious forces plot against their freedom and very lives? According to their narrative, Big Librul Gubmint is out to take any their religion and enslave them to serve the lazy and undeserving. Throw in FOX News, the rants of talk radio, social media echo chambers, and weekly mega-church attendance and violà! You end up with heavily armed paranoids convinced that their god is on their side and itching fora fight.

2018-08-08 22:47:25 +0000 UTCIt took me writing out a question to realize that when Heath quoted Rick Wiles describing the black clad fellows lowering themselves in a controlled fashion by rope from helicopters the word was written “repel” rather than “rappel” (or rapel), therefore the use of “(sic)” after that word. Heath’s pronunciation was a clue as well. Apparently in the US either rappel or rapel are “acceptable”. Non the less rapel could easily be auto corrected to repel if written on an iPhone (pos).
