I take a little issue with the diatribe. I work at a tiny little college in Texas with some brilliant colleagues. People wind up where they wind up. Like sometimes the words that give a voice to all your frustrations about the way things are come from a backwater place in Georgia. People wind up where they fucking wind up, man.

They could be 1% of the population but as long as they are the ones in power, the rest of us might as well be Christian as far as legislation is concerned. Our rights are ruined for the next few decades thanks to the Christians on the SCOTUS. So it really doesn't matter if numbers are in sharp decline. From a practical standpoint, it's irrelevant

2023-04-13 09:07:46 +0000 UTCAs the possibly one introvert that couldn’t bring herself to mill about in the crowd at the SA table at AACon, I can agree with a lot of these top 10 moments. This was my first atheist con, my mom and I drove up from Tucson for Saturday only, Seth’s talk was amazing (expected that) and getting to spend 5 minutes lingering in the background as my mom talked to Noah and Lucinda during the early morning when most people were still sleeping, were some of my favourite moments! I also got to speak to Eli (he sneezed as he arrived and we almost ran into each other lol) for half a second! I’m still recovering from all the human interaction, but I certainly recommend getting to a con even if you hear a crowd and run the other way! All the talks were interesting and almost every person is incredibly nice and worth fighting all the ‘unknown person speaking to me = bolt’ feelings.
