Better Late Than Never, I Suppose...

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I've been talking about this for quite a while. Since the whole Steam debacle, I've been working tirelessly to get this together. Talking with developers, gathering facts, and, rewriting literally every time Valve changed their gosh darned minds on what they were doing. All in all, this took about 120 hours of work to put together, and I'm immensely proud of it.

So... expect this as our behind the scenes piece for the week. ๐Ÿ˜Š

When I say I want to do more in-depth coverage, this is the type of stuff I'm talking about. Bringing the stories of the day to life through the people it affects, and just hoping to bring that deep-down Newsweek or WaPo style journalism into our little hobby when I can.

Though I make my living mostly as a software engineer, I'm also a journalist - I have a minor in journalism at my local community college. I'd like to start using what I've learned over the years more often, and this should be taken as an indicator of things to come.

That's to say nothing of our amazing team because, well... they're too awesome. No, really. Read Seth's pieces like his conversation with Okayado, or  Masao Maruyama, or the coming barrage of Gundam stuff from Anthony... or Lydia's amazing piece on Lain. They are amazing people who bring the absolute best to this quirky industry... and I'm thankful to have them aboard.

(As an aside, I'm going to start highlighting their work over the coming weeks through Patreon links - Anime Herald isn't about any one person, and I don't want to be "that girl" who just steals the spotlight).

What I'm saying is... since January, we've been saying "You deserve better" from the norm. I'd like to really start embodying it.

Right now, Anime Herald are that scrappy underdog with a lot of potential. Now, it's time to really bring that potential forward. It's kind of like Ashita no Joe/MegaloBox - but it won't end with one of us dying in the ring... at least I hope it won't.

Dark jokes aside, thanks for joining us on this journey. And, most important of all, thank you for believing in us.
