Samantha Ferreira: Hi everyone, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club! I'm Samantha, and I'm here with Anthony this week
Anthony Simpson: Evening.
Samantha Ferreira: Tonight, we're taking one last trip to the graveyard as we talk up Zombie Land Saga's final episodes: "All Aboard the Sadness Train" and "We already knew it would get to this point."
I really liked the way they opened these episodes, to be honest... basically recreating the intro, albeit with the others more... sane

Anthony Simpson: I enjoyed that part. Showing Sakura doing the same as she did when she was revived as a zombie.
Samantha Ferreira: Same. Poor Ai though... she clearly remember their first encounter D:
Anthony Simpson: Yea.
Samantha Ferreira: I kind of liked how the characters just came together in this one - though holy crap, Lily... that star is a freaking weapon
Anthony Simpson: That Star is dangerous.
Samantha Ferreira: Truth.
Poor Yugiri, though - getting all dressed up, and just getting ghosted

Anthony Simpson: All that work for nothing
Samantha Ferreira: Truth. That said, Tatsumi really stole the show in this episode along with Tae
Anthony Simpson: Well Tae usually steals the scene when she gets to be Tae.
Samantha Ferreira: I know you mentioned that you hadn't seen the finale just yet
Anthony Simpson: Probably tomorrow or Monday is when I will likely get to it
Samantha Ferreira: OK... I'll really avoid talking about spoilers there, then
So before I say anything there, are there any thoughts on this series so far?
Anthony Simpson: I'm glad I got to give the show a watch it was always on my radar but I just never got around to watching it before hand.
Samantha Ferreira: I'm glad we could share in that - it was really fun to get your take on this, as someone who could watch with fresh eyes
What would you say was your favorite moment?
Anthony Simpson: The stuff with Lily I enjoyed immensely. The making of the commercial for the drive-in Tori was another fun one for me. Probably my favorite overall was just episode 9 since that focused on Saki.
Samantha Ferreira: Episode 9 was just so much fun. It's definitely one of my highlights

Anthony Simpson: Probably my favorite episode outside of Lily's episode.
Samantha Ferreira: Lily's was just outstanding. Like... both as an episode and as a statement, in and of itself
I'd argue it's the highest point of the series
Anthony Simpson: I would say as well.
Samantha Ferreira: I really can't wait for the second season
Anthony Simpson: I can't either.
Samantha Ferreira: I look forward to hearing your comments on the finale ahead of the next season, since well... it's a ride.
Anthony Simpson: I will let them known at the next meeting.

Samantha Ferreira: Awesome. \o/
I mean, I'm sure you know how the finale works out, but I really just adore the execution.
I'm just hoping that MAPPA will be able to keep that lightning in a bottle. The first season began airing almost exactly two years ago today, so I do worry that we could see an Attack on Titan-ish "slump" after a wait like that.
Anthony Simpson: That is a possibility that could. I certainly hope Season 2 is really good.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. I really want to see the cast come back.
Anthony Simpson: Same.
Samantha Ferreira: Any final thoughts before we say goodbye to this one?
Anthony Simpson: I'm happy I got to finally watch this show. It was worth it

Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. We should do these retro runs more often.
Anthony Simpson: It was enjoyable I will say doing a show from a previous season.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise
Also less stressful to not have to worry about a stream mishap, where something isn't up on time or having the provider crap out
Anyway, that's all the time we have, so until next time, remember: zombies make for amazing human drama if you give them a chance.
Have a great night, and stay tuned for our next season when we talk about Ikebukuro West Gate Park!
Anthony Simpson: Good night
