I have PTSD from the whole thing (flashbacks, panic upon driving past the surgery center, etc), but that's not my care teams fault, just my brain. Rather a catch-22 situation of "wouldn't feel comfortable in my body if I hadn't had this done, and yet having done the procedure, I feel violated having not been able to remember or be privy to what happened for the past few hours while being operated on." Which is like... a requirement of general anesthesia. (they also shaved some things without telling me... which they're expressly not supposed to do. Definitely some other stuff too (whee mental health is hard ๐ ) but I'm switching therapists next week and I hope it helps me handle things better. Oh and I am back to lifting my standard amount of "no but really how can you lift that much" :)
