My Werewolf System Chapter 1302
Added 2025-05-05 16:53:13 +0000 UTCEdvard was still reeling from the last hit. Vampires were known for their incredible healing abilities, in some ways, even more impressive than the werewolvesâ, but unlike them, for most vampires, healing required a very specific kind of energy.
They could supplement it with certain substances to aid their recovery, and right now, thatâs exactly what Edvard needed.
Reaching deep into the inner lining of his large trench coat, he pulled out another flask. It was identical to the one he had earlier given to Blackjack. The only problem? It was his last one.
He drank it quickly, the thick liquid burning slightly as it went down. Almost instantly, he could feel its effects kicking in, his muscles tensed, and his blood began to flow with new vigor.
âAnd you call us animals,â Lupus sneered from across the battlefield. âI often wonder... the world was surprisingly accepting of the Altered when they were revealed. Sure, there were protests, there always are, even for the smallest of changes.â
His voice turned cold, and a chilling smirk spread across his face.
âBut if the world ever learned about your kind, about what you really are and what you do, I wonder⊠would they accept you? Or would they see you for what you truly are? Monsters.â
With a burst of speed, Lupus launched off his feet and charged forward again. As he neared Edvard, he began zigzagging, moving side to side in rapid bursts, using a move eerily similar to the werewolvesâ Lethal Pounce. It made him hard to track, even harder to hit.
Coming in from the right, he thrust a glowing fist toward Edvardâs face. Edvard had managed to form a blood barrier from his aura, but Lupusâs power shattered through it as if it were glass. The fist connected squarely with Edvardâs cheek.
At the same moment, Edvard twisted his body, and his foot came up fast, cracking Lupus right in the mouth.
Take a hit to give a hit, he thought. Right now, that might be the only thing I can do.
Spinning away, Edvard thrust both palms forward, releasing a burst of red aura. It struck Lupus in the chest and pushed him backward, giving Edvard the precious space he needed.
In every category, strength, speed, agility, power, Lupus was superior. His energy, whatever it was, outclassed Edvardâs aura completely. The only edge Edvard had left was his mind.
Against someone this skilled, my ability is useless, Edvard thought bitterly. The gap between us... itâs just too wide.
Lupus wasnât letting up. He kept coming, closing the distance again and again.
The hunters watching from a distance knew what was coming. It was only a matter of time, time until Lupus landed another one of those devastating strikes.
Blackjack clenched his fists. Heâd guessed it too. That was probably Edvardâs last flask.
âWe need to help him!â Joy shouted, panic rising in her voice. âEdvardâs the strongest one we have! If he falls, if we donât help, weâre all going to die!â
âWe wouldnât be any help to him,â Roland replied grimly. âEven as five-star hunters... we wouldnât last a second out there.â
As those words left his mouth, Roland suddenly felt a strange tingle rush through his senses. His hunter instincts had kicked in.
He turned his head to the right, scanning the rooftops. Something, or someone, was moving fast across them. Zooming in with his maskâs vision enhancement, his eyes widened in disbelief.
âWhat the⊠is that Trixie?â Roland asked aloud. âAnd⊠what is she riding? Is that⊠the enemy?!â
The others couldnât see. Most of their masks were broken, and Roland's words only added confusion. But Roland didnât have time to explain. Whatever was coming, whoever it was, was headed straight toward them.
It was getting closer. Then finally, he saw it clearly.
Trixie was holding onto a large crate with one hand, and gripping a massive black wolf with the other.
The two came tearing in at breakneck speed. The wolf slid across the ground as if skating on ice, veering to the side as it came to a stop. Trixie tumbled off, rolling across the cracked pavement. The crate skidded beside her.
Kai had arrived, and he had come as fast as he possibly could.
Initially, he hadnât wanted to bring Trixie. She was hurt, injured, and would only slow him down. He thought sheâd be more of a liability than anything else.
But she knew the way to the Garden, the fastest way. Working together, theyâd arrived even quicker than expected.
Yet now, standing there, Kaiâs skin was prickling. His hair shifted slightly with the tension in the air. Every nerve in his body screamed as his gaze locked onto one man.
So thatâs him⊠Kai thought. Thatâs the other Alpha. The one Gary⊠no, all of us Howlers⊠have to face.
âKai!â Austin called out, his voice hoarse. He was standing, barely, but he was alive.
âAustin⊠you managed to survive.â Kai said, shifting back into his human form, his eyes never leaving Lupus.
âBarely... that guy, we canât fight him,â Austin said.
âI know,â Kai replied. âAnd I donât plan to.â
His voice dropped to a whisper, and he subtly tilted his head toward Edvard. He knew what they were, and he was sure Edvard had enhanced hearing.
Your package has arrived, Kai whispered.
And he was right, the message reached Edvardâs ears.
Without a moment to waste, Edvard leapt into the air and swung both hands forward, releasing a short burst of the blood cannon. It wasnât meant to hit, it was meant to disrupt. If Lupus tried to condense any energy, he wouldnât have time.
Lupus simply batted the blood strikes away with his bare hands, but his eyes locked onto Edvard, who was now moving toward the others.
âYouâre helping us, right?â Edvard said to Kai, panting. âThen do me a favorâŠâ
He held up a shaking finger.
âHold him back, for ten seconds. Thatâs all I need.â
He needed time. Time to put on the armor.

I was thinking that hey it definitely makes sense, almost all that does if he can go toe to toe with an original

2025-05-05 17:29:40 +0000 UTCI wonder, is Lupus a dedicated follower? White energy usually means celestial energy. I feel like even with Ray's armor, the plot would make Gary and Lupus face each other again at a separate time. If Gary gets there, 2 against 1 may make Lupus flee the scene, leaving the 1v1 to a later time
