Good morning!

The other day I started a topic on the mind, brain and body and how praise and worship affects them.

When we are in a fear response which often looks like anxiety, depression and other physical or emotional problems, we are in “fight or flight” and our body produces more glucose, more clotting factors along with increasing the blood pressure, breathing and much more. These put us at risk for heart attacks, strokes (from the increased clotting) and diabetes (from the increased glucose).

So many people live in a constant state of either elevated or low-grade fear and stress. It is no wonder we have so many health and psychological problems if you look at what the body does with stress!

However, in the study done with people who praised and worshiped God, the fear response was downregulated and the body was able to respond in healthy ways to external stimuli!

1 John 4:18 reads, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

What wonderful news! Just directing our mind to praise God and acknowledge Him can heal our brains and bodies and create healthy circuitry in minds!

The research shows that as little as 7-12 minutes each day has an impact on our brains and bodies.

Application: Where and when will I practice the healing power of praise for 7-12 minutes in my day?

Yes! I now practice this throughout my day, as I pray in the morning and as I continue to talk with our Father during my day.
