Good morning and Happy New Year!
I pray you all have been doing well this holiday season. I know for many it is very challenging, however I pray that as long as we are still here on earth we find reasons to praise God and hold onto the hope that comes from Him alone!
The joys for me seem to be found more and more in praising God FOR all things and trying to listen to the Spirit and then heed!
One example that might seem silly but was very pertinent came about this past week.
My mom and Poppy Craig had been visiting and we were running around doing all kinds of things. At one point we had an issue with the back window on the tailgate of our car. It would not settle down into the lock so I could lock it. I troubleshooted that thing for what seemed like hours! I decided I would take a prayer walk. I prayed and then called my husband who was working. He prayed with me too. As soon as I arrived home from the prayer walk, the neighbor across the street pulled up and my mom walked out of the house and called out to him. He came over and was able to assess that a part had come loose at the top of the frame and had slid down obstructing the closing of the window.
To most that would seem like a random normal daily thing. For me, the fact that I decided to heed the Spirit, walk away from the problem, pray and not get worked up was HUGE! The process was what made the difference for me. God can solve problems in any number of ways. My job is to ask, listen, heed! Boy do I need practice with that haha!
I plan to continue practicing this through the new year! What about you? What is your focus this year?
During this start of the New Year, I will also be focusing on a few things related to health and wellness. I am going to experiment with some new things and see how they go!
I will write a Monday Motivation message for now and maybe as time goes by, add more days of the week. For now, this seems doable amidst other things I'm adding into life!
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Ephesians 3:20-21
