“Femi,” Daniel says.
“Huuh?” Femi answers as she sleepily rolls over on top of his bed.
“What did I tell you about making my bed a mess? If you’re going to take my laundry out of the drier then you’re supposed to put it away, not sleep on it.”
“It’s not like I’m shedding on it. Relax, mister cop,” Femi says with a loud yawn.
She was cute and cooperative at first, but the more time they spend together, the more defiant and troublesome she becomes.
Femi rolls around some more until she’s hanging upside-down off of the bed, his oversized shirt hanging down over her face and revealing her chest. With how flat she is, there isn’t exactly anything for the shirt to get caught on.
“Femi!” Daniel shouts, turning around with flushed cheeks.
“Huuh?” Femi answers.
“What did I tell you about being careful of how you dress and lay?”
Femi pushes his shirt off of her face and looks up, seeing her exposed chest and stomach. “Who cares, you already saw me anyways when you rescued me.”
“I’m still a man, you know, and you’re a girl! A girl isn’t supposed to be—”
“Since when are you so proper? Besides, I’ve seen you already.”
“That’s because you don’t know how to knock!”
“I told you I don’t like closed doors.”
Daniel realizes that there won’t be any winning with her today, so rather than try to convince a cat to not be so cat-like, he sighs and walks over to the kitchen. “Guess I’ll eat the sushi I brou—”
Femi is standing next to him staring at the grocery bags.
“Nope. Not unless you clean up what you did to my bed,” Daniel says.
Femi tugs his shirt and looks up at him with eyes that belong on a puppy rather than a cat. “Please? I promise I’ll clean up afterwards! I promise, so please, let me—”
“Nope. Clean first, then sushi.”
Femi disappears in a flash back into his bedroom. Daniel really doesn’t like the sounds that he hears coming from it, but when he looks inside of the room, it has been cleaned spotless. However, he is very concerned about the trash bag full of fish bones that is sitting on the floor. “Where were all of those? How’d you even get those? There’s more fish there than I’ve bought in years combined,” Daniel says.
“It is not of your concern. Sushi?” Femi asks.
“Alright, alright. You cleaned up, so I’ll let you have some sushi.”
“You’re the best, Daniel!” Femi happily declares while digging into the grocery bags.
He may be the best, but he apparently isn’t best enough to leave some sushi for.
The only pieces of sushi that he gets are the ones with sauce on them as she doesn’t like those ones, and they are in the minority of pieces. He would normally buy more cases of them, but the market was short on those today, so most of the sushi he bought is sushi that Femi finds acceptable and can consume in mere instants.
“I’m going back to sleep now,” Femi says with some rice stuck around her mouth and a stomach full of sushi.
Daniel stares down at the seven pieces of sushi left for him and sighs. He’ll have to make something else so that he’s not hungr—
Femi licks his cheek. “Thanks for taking care of me for another day,” she says before heading back into his bedroom.
As troublesome as she is, at least she’s cute and lets him play with her ears.
…
“And there was blood everywhere! It was gross! Do you know what it’s like to have somebody else’s blood all over you? Have you ever had to take somebody’s pinky outside of your hair?” Raeli whines as she pours herself another shot of vodka. “I hate my job!”
“Maybe – maybe you should go easy on the drinking there,” Jake says, but when he tries to take the glass from her, she chugs it down and starts pouring some more.
“I’ll go easy on the drinking when life goes easy on me!” She downs another shot, making it her fourth shot swallowed in the span of five minutes since she has gotten home.
“You know you’re just going to get all flirty and embarrassing and then regret everything in the morning, right? Just like every other time?”
“I won’t regret the sex though which is good enough for me!”
“What am I going to do with you?”
“You’re going to leave me and my bottle alone while getting me something to eat! Then I’ll reward you with some drunken service.”
“Yep, you’re already getting there if you can admit to what you’re going to be doing later,” Jake says and sighs before heading into the kitchen to grab something for his tired wife to eat.
“Am – am not get-hin there’re…ere? Air?”
“That was fast.”
By the time that Jake makes it over to his drunken elf wife, the bottle of vodka—which was unopened before tonight—is now half empty and she’s wobbling from side to side on the couch. “Here, take this and then eat,” Jake says, handing over a pill and some artificial crab. Fortunately, when she’s drinking, he can hand her anything edible and it will be the best meal that she’s ever had.
Her not complaining about things in her mouth when drunk is one of the best parts of her being drunk.
Raeli swallows the pill down some more vodka before he manages to take the bottle away from her. Afterward, she devours the small plate of artificial crab chunks that Jake prepared for her and happily squeals. “Sho good! Honeeey, you’re likes, the betsh hook ever! I wish I could hook – cook as good as youuuu.”
“I know, I’m the best cook in the world, right?” Jake asks, leaning over her from behind the couch.
“Mhm, mhm! You are! I’m sho lucky to have shu a great hubbz – h-hey! Why you… laughing? Did I mish a joke?”
“Nothing, just amused at how adorable my wife is.”
Raeli pouts and puffs some air at him which only makes him laugh even more. However, to get back at her for puffing air at him, he puffs some air at her nearest ear.
While she would normally just blush and tell him not to tease her if she was sober, when drunk like this, she lets out an erotic moan and looks up at him as if she wants him to do it some more.
Fortunately for Jake, she has given him permission numerous times when sober to have sex with her when drunk. It was a major concern of his when they first started dating because of how extremely sexual she gets as soon as the alcohol starts hitting her, and he didn’t want her to think he was a rapist taking advantage of her or anything like that. Instead, she has given him full permission and even expects him to give in to her drunken advances.
The downside is that he can never take her out to drink in public. Last time he tried doing that, she tried stripping in the middle of a busy bar and was getting very adventurous with his body.
But, since they have the privacy of their home right now, there is nothing stopping Jake from climbing on top of her on the couch and getting to business.
…
“Whatcha doin’?” Koppi asks, holding the phone up to her ear while kicking her feet in bed.
“Being harassed by you,” Logan answers, kicking his feet while also laying down in bed with the phone up to his ear.
“Oh! Did I tell you that somebody asked me out earlier?”
There are a few moments of silence between their voices. “Th-that so? W-well! I hope that you have fun with him!” Logan says.
Koppi may not be able to see him, but she can still tell he’s pouting from his voice. How huffy he sounds is the biggest giveaway. “Are you jealous?”
“L-like I’d ever be jealous! I don’t care what you do!”
“You suuurrrreeee? I haven’t given him an answer yet, and I told him that I’d text him when I know what I want to say. I could text him saying I’ll go out with him right now if you really don’t care,” she says in a teasing tone.
“Why does my opinion matter? I’m just some friend you live next door to! It’s not like I care about what you do or anything like that.”
Koppi has to cover her mouth with her hand to keep herself from giggling. Hearing him try to act cold when he clearly sounds very hot is adorably hilarious. “You’re like a girl, and girls talk to their girlfriends about this sort of stuff! Come on, what do you think I should do?”
“I told you to just do it! I don’t care what you do. If you want to date some other guy then do it, I don’t care,” Logan says, but despite what his voice may say, his heart feels the complete opposite.
“You don’t sound very convincing. If you don’t want me to date him then just say so and I won’t.”
“I don’t care! Just – just make sure he’s not bad! You’re not allowed to date anybody bad. He has to be nice to you and smart and know what you like and all that other stupid stuff!”
While Logan’s heart may be racing out of fear of his love dating another man, Koppi’s heart is racing from hearing her hot-and-cold love expressing such concern for her in his own way.
“Final time I’m going to ask you! If you say to date him then I’ll text him right now and set up a date,” she says with her best serious voice.
There is another moment of awkward silence before Logan says anything. “D-don’t date him… at least until I check him out! I have to make sure he’s good enough for you…”
“Okay! If a guy ever asks me out then I’ll make sure you get to check him out first.”
“Huh? Wait, what? I thought you said somebody did ask you out?”
“It was hypothetical.”
“You – you didn’t say that! Why didn’t you tell me that before? Don’t you think that’s important information?!”
“I’m sleepy, night!” Koppi says, ending the call and looking up at the ceiling with red cheeks.
She’s sure that he’s frustrated with her, but right now, she’s overwhelmed with happiness. He has no idea just how easily he can make her heart overflow with joy.
Neither of them can be fully honest with their feelings at the end of the day.
…
“Buns,” Marcus says.
“Yes?” Buns answers.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Editing the Wikipedia page on you so that everybody knows how perfect you are! Can you believe there isn’t a single mention of you being like, the best ever anywhere on here? Somebody keeps on reverting my changes, too! I wonder if there’s a phone number I can call to tell them to stop reverting the changes.”
“I don’t think that’s how it works,” Marcus says followed by a loud yawn. “It’s eight in the morning. How long have you been up?” he asks, looking at the desk and seeing an empty mug stained by coffee.
“Only since four!” she answers in a cheery voice.
“But we went to bed at one last night?”
“I know, but I had to wake up early to get all my blogging done! I had to update your fan blog, I had to check the Facebook group, your Twitter fan account, and I had to do a bunch of other stuff like that! Making sure that everybody on social media knows about how perfect you are is the job of a loving wife!”
“I’m too tired to say anything about that, so keep up the good work,” Marcus says before yawning again and heading off to the bathroom.
He notices something off about the trash bin as he stands in front of the toilet. There are a bunch of balled up, seemingly clean pieces of toilet paper. It looks like there’s a box just barely poking out from underneath them as well. Essentially, it looks like a certain bunny has tried to cover something up and did a very poor job of it.
As much as he loves her, she’s really not good at much aside from fangirling over him.
Marcus lets his curious side get the best of him after shaking out the last of his bladder’s contents by taking the box out from underneath the tissues. Only, when he disturbs the tissues, he notices several sticks underneath them.
He looks at the box.
It’s a box for pregnancy tests.
He looks at the sticks.
They’ve all been used.
He compares the sticks to the diagram on the back of the box.
They’re positive.
Marcus was tired before, but now he feels wide awake! Not only that, but he’s smiling widely enough that it almost hurts!
He places his hand on the doorknob and starts to turn it before stopping and rethinking going out there to hug the life out of his wife.
She was hiding it on purpose, and going by how she barely got any sleep which she usually loves, she must be worried about something.
Marcus recalls his past conversations about having children with her. The chance of a healthy child being born between a demi-human and a human is incredibly low. As much as they both want to have kids and are ready to, hence the lack of protection in their sex life, they both know there are tons of potentially heartbreaking risks.
If she of all people isn’t jumping up and down screaming to the world about being pregnant with his child, she has to have an extremely good reason to be waiting.
Marcus places everything back in the trash how it was, washes his hands, and goes back out to his blogging wife.
“I love you,” he says, placing a kiss on the top of one of her fluffy ears.
Buns turns her head to look up and him and kiss him on the lips. “I love you too! Want to go get breakfast once I’m done?”
“Sure, I’ll take you wherever you want,” he says.
His heart is racing, and he desperately wants to talk about what he saw, but he’ll wait until she’s ready.
No matter what happens, whether the worst or the best-case scenario comes to fruition, he will be there for her.
…
Charlie excitedly opens the door when he hears the doorbell ring. Normally, only his friends would ever come over and ring the doorbell, but today is different. Rather than one of his friends standing on the other side of it, his cute cyclops of a girlfriend is there with her glasses on and a nervous expression.
“C-can I come in?” Melody asks.
Charlie grabs her hands and leads her inside as an answer.
“By the way, you were looking at me way too much during school today! People are going to get suspicious if you look at me so much,” she scolds him.
“I don’t care if they get suspicious. They’ll just think I have a crush on you or something,” he replies.
Ever since the two of them have started secretly dating, his confidence has been steadily increasing in addition to some other physical changes he has been making.
He has been taking better care of his hair, watching what he’s been eating, has started working out, and even puts more effort into dressing nice! He wants to be a boyfriend that she can be proud of and not have to date only in secret.
Of course, he isn’t the only one who has been making changes. Melody has been studying harder, buttoning up more of her shirt and wearing longer skirts, spending less time being tutored by teachers and more time being tutored by her boyfriend, and looking up web articles about how to be a good girlfriend. She wants to be a girlfriend that he can be proud of and find perfect even if she’s not as perfect as her sister is.
“You’re so weird,” she says. “Your parents home?”
“They won’t be home for a few more hours,” Charlie answers.
He may not think much of what he just said, but Melody feels her body frozen in place as she desperately resists gaining the skin color of a tomato.
“Come on, I’ll show you my room.”
“Your – your room? Why don’t we just study down here?”
“I already got snacks and stuff up there for us, and I have something I want to show you!”
Melody calms herself down and follows him up the stairs.
His room ends up looking like a pretty average boy’s room. There are a few posters with giant robots on the walls, video game consoles, a desktop computer, and – wait, is that a dress?
“I made it for you! I don’t have your measurements, so it may not fit right, but I can fix it to fit better if I need to,” Charlie says.
Hanging from his closet is a beautiful, custom-made sundress with a floral pattern and girly colors. It looks beautiful to Melody, and she would love to wear it, but she knows that she could never wear anything like that around anybody! “You – you didn’t make this, did you?” she asks.
“I did! I love drawing, but I mainly just draw to get ideas for sewing,” Charlie explains, pulling a sewing machine out from underneath his bed. “My grandma taught me when I was a kid. She was the only one to ever really give me attention, so I want to make beautiful clothes to honor her!”
Melody feels something tugging on her heart. This boy is… way too good for her. “I can’t take something like that. It would look horrible on me, and I don’t like dresses anyways,” Melody says.
“If you don’t take it then I’ll throw it away.”
“Fine! I’ll take it, but I’m never wearing it. Understand? But don’t you dare ever throw something like that away. You shouldn’t just toss away stuff you’ve worked hard on, especially if it looks so… nice.”
Charlie’s smile is bright enough to make that tugging on her heart even stronger.
Melody knows that most people in the school make fun of how he looks, but when she sees him smiling like this, he is the most attractive man she’s ever seen. His warm, genuine smile draws her in and makes her fall deeper for him every time he sees her.
If his smile and the dress he made for her wasn’t good enough, all of her favorite snacks and drinks being laid out on his desk for her would be more than enough.
