Weekly Update #79 (Important-ish, you should probably read this one)

Alright. So.

1. I have discovered over the past few weeks that I really do like to have set days where chapters are released so that people can look forward to specific stories on specific days.

2. I have discovered that having an extremely inconsistent sleep schedule does not work well when trying to stick to a release schedule where I write chapters on the same days that I release them.

Trying to fix my sleep schedule this week was the wrong thing to do. Instead of fixing it, I ended up trying to stay up when exhausted, tried to sleep when I wasn't tired, and so on. What this ended up doing is making my sleep schedule even worse. I only had a few days this week where I got more than 4 hours of sleep. For the past 2 days, that caught up to me, and I've been sleeping  3 to 4 times a day. That was part of why TTE was so late. I just could not stay awake long enough to write it all and I had no energy when I was awake.

And staying on a set sleep schedule just isn't a possibility for me if you know me at all.

So, how do I fix this?

I'm going to do the thing I've only ever really tried once more than a year ago, and I'm going to try my best to absolutely stick to it.

I'm going... to stockpile.

Only a little.

This upcoming week, no new chapters are going to be posted to Patreon nor for free readers so that I can give myself a buffer of one week. That means, starting the week after this upcoming week, I'll be able to schedule stories so that they consistently release at the same time on the same days without me having to stress myself out over rushing to finish writing a chapter before the "deadline." So, I'm still going to write chapters for each story this week, but they won't actually get posted until next week. Then, next week, I'll be writing the next-next week's chapters.

This way, you all get consistent releases for specific days/times, and my sleep/writing schedule won't matter since I'll be writing everything ahead of time anyways and can use automatic releasing to make sure everything is on time. It won't matter if I write all the stories over the course of 2 days, spread out over the week - whatever. All that matters is that I get the chapters done before the next week, so then you'll always have everything on-time. I wish I could just write twice the amount of chapters one week to do this, but I know myself better than to place faith in my ability to do that. Taking a week "off" from posting chapters will be the best way for me to accomplish this.

So, tl;dr: no new chapters this upcoming week because I'm going to write myself one week of buffer chapters. This will let me make sure that chapters you read are never late nor delayed, so you can expect the same stories on specific days at specific times every single week instead of hoping that I manage to stay on schedule. The next post you get from me will be the new The Queen's Hound chapter at... let's say 9am EST, November 4th.

Oh, well, you'll get two posts before then. There will be a bonus lewd chapter for TTE thanks to a certain patron wanting to use commission words on that, and I also want to write a Patreon-exclusive lewd chapter for TQH. So, you'll get two bonus lewd chapters sometime between now and the 4th. Then, once the 4th comes around, you'll (hopefully) get the same stories on the same days at the same times every week until the stories are complete \o/.

We're trading one week of chapters for eternal schedule consistency.

Only 28 hours of actual writing not counting me trying to write. I basically did nothing this week except either write or try to get myself to write through how tired I was.

I liked this week's chapter much more than last week's chapter even though this week's took me 3 days to finish just because of how exhausted I've been. I seriously need to just like, sleep with no alarm tonight so that I can sleep until whenever my body decides is enough on its own.

I also tried to tease lots of future possibilities with the latest chapter. Progress on the remake of the first volume's cover is going well, too, but I might have ErosPanda do a cover for something else first before finishing it.

Lazy Dragon Queen

Speaking of lazy, I've had this post editor open for like 3 hours now and still haven't finished typing this weekly update since I've been getting so distracted. Anyways, I need more cat-themed furniture recommendations.

I'm also considering making "traps" a thing that could be added to the lanes. Towers have units + future waifus, and traps are just items that can be built and placed.

In Closing

Once more: no chapter updates this upcoming week because I'm going to give myself a stockpile of 1 chapter per story so that all stories can be reliably released on time from then on. I feel bad about making you all go a week without any "real" chapters since bonus lewds don't exactly count, but I really do believe it'll be worth the wait to have a very clear schedule to look forward to afterward.

There will also be more of the "horror" dungeon core for those of you who have been enjoying it so far!
