I'd say check the lake as well. Looks like a tunnel under there you can use. Worst case scenario, if you get caught by the guards, you can tell them that you were on a clandestine diplomatic mission and are returning home after having met with Princess Twilight.

Before boldly walking up to the gate, maybe check the lake first? Other changelings have to have a way past the border, and a water access point would be discrete.

I mean 10/10 probably be better to sneak back cause one you're not gonna get injured and two they probably gonna increase their security so they gonna question how did a changeling get past

Use Black vine to make a hole to pass through

sneak up to the pond, transform into the siren pony you met and see where the cave goes if that is a cave.
