It keeps looking less and less like I can make my idea work, so I might as well put it here for consideration. When we summon the vines, we do so with a portal. If we can hold that open long enough, we can evacuate most if not all the changelings. It would be straight into the everfree, but that's not all that bad considering. Had been holding onto this idea since the border checkpoint. It might be a good fallback if nothing else.
