Poll winner: Damien's POV- surprise scene (Damien convincing Oliver to take Freya)

Damien's POV

Alpha Oliver stares angrily at me as I approach him, his fingers tapping against the table in annoyance.

“You lied to me.” He snaps before I even have the chance to lower myself into the seat opposite him.

I raise my eyebrows in surprise at his lousy attitude. He seemed pretty happy last night when he invited Freya to stay in his room, and I assume that she was eager and willing to please him. I sigh as I glance around the small restaurant, making note of the tasty smell of the sandwiches the workers are making.

Áine will like this place. I’ll bring her here to get some food before taking her to the park.

“What did she do?” I question, interested to know what Freya did to make the Alpha so angry.

When we set up this meeting last night at dinner, I assumed that the topic of conversation would be much cheerier than this. I should’ve figured that Freya’s self-sabotage would ruin this, but I wanted to remain optimistic.

Alpha Oliver snorts, clearly annoyed.

“What didn’t she do?” He quips. “You promised me a respectable young woman with good virtues. This one dropped to her knees before I’d even closed the door to my room.”

I can tell that he feels quite passionate about Freya’s promiscuity, but I am unable to hold back the laugh that erupts from me. Is he seriously upset that she gave him a blowjob? If I were in his position I would have welcomed it and brought her home with me that night.

My Beast expresses his distaste at my thoughts, only settling back down once I assure him that Áine is the only woman whose mouth I want on me. I’m aware that he already knows and can sense that I only want Áine, but he has gotten into the habit lately of forcing me to actively say it to him.

“And so you stopped her?” I tease Oliver, knowing damn well that he allowed her to please him before expressing his dislike towards her actions.

Oliver’s pupils dilate at my laughter, his Beast emerging in threat to my disrespect. I pay it no mind as I lean back in my chair and settle. He may be an Alpha but he’s no match against me.

We both know this, and I find satisfaction in watching his Beast back down to me.

“You’ll take her and you won’t complain about it.” I order.

I was hoping to maintain a good relationship with Oliver throughout this ordeal. I even planned to allow him to make his own decision on whether or not he would accept Freya, but after last night my opinion of that has changed.

I smile at the memory of Áine relaxing beneath me as I massaged her back. She fell asleep so quickly, and as I ran my hands over her warm skin I realized that I cannot allow Freya to stick around any longer. She will not be returning to the village with us tomorrow, and that means that either Oliver takes her or I leave her dead in a ditch.

Áine is finally starting to open up and trust me, and I’ll be damned if I let my brother’s shitty mate ruin that.

Oliver stands to his feet, the chair flying behind him and clattering against the far wall. His reaction is dramatic and clearly done to express his anger, but I find myself indifferent to it. At the end of the day both me and my pack are stronger than him, and if he’s smart he’ll do as I command.

“Do not act as if you are so strong.” He spits at me. “Not when you have a vulnerable human as a mate.”

My hands are around his neck before the words are entirely out of his mouth. The Alpha laughs and tries to rip his neck from my grip, his motions halting as he realizes that my claws are fully extended. One wrong move and his body will be on the ground and his throat in my hand.

“What do you mean by that?” I question.

I tighten my grip around him, only slightly satisfied as he audibly struggles to breathe. His hands rise to try and pry my hand out from around him, but no amount of pulling is going to make me let go.

The humans scatter as they take notice of us, their fear intoxicating as it fills the small space. I watch out of the corner of my eyes as the last few push their way out of the door. Even the workers run to the back to hide, their pounding heartbeats loud as they shove their bodies underneath shelves and cabinets.

“Tell me what you mean?” I push.

Oliver reaches up to try and claw at my face but I easily dodge him and use my free hand to snap his wrist back. It breaks with a wet pop, the sound satisfying both me and my Beast only slightly. There’s a smirk on my face as the Alpha tries to shift before realizing that the action will result in him losing his throat as well.

“Let me make this clear. You will take Freya as your mate and bring her back to your dirty little pack to rule as Luna. You will give her babies and whatever the fuck else it is she wants and you will do it all with a smile. I don’t want her, and if she even tries to come running back here I will snap her neck before finding you and snapping yours as well.” I spit in his face.

Oliver gasps as I lessen my grip on his neck slightly.

“And if you so much as ever think about Áine again I’ll hunt you down and make you watch as I slaughter your entire pack. Women. Children. All of them.”

He falls to the floor like a small child when I finally release my grip on his throat. My Beast still fights with me to kill him as I watch him heave and clutch at his neck in panic. I accidentally broke his windpipe but he’ll heal before it kills him.

I watch him crawl away from me for a moment before turning and heading back to the inn. I no longer want to go out and explore with Áine after the threat that was made against her, but knowing how excited she is I know that I can’t take this opportunity away from her.

I’ll just make sure that she sticks close to me and keep an eye out for any danger.

It’s doubtful that Oliver will try anything, and I expect that by the time that I return after my day out with Áine that both he and Freya will be long gone, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

MUWHAHAAHAAH when he snapped his wrist I got GOOSEBUMPS. I like it 😈😈😈

I see your point. But, I feel like we’re getting close to dealing with the murder of Aine’s village, including her parents. Rather tough to work through that difference.

Vanessa

They’re not pulling apart, they’re working on their differences. Damien wants freya gone so that he can actively work on being with Aines. Freya is literally poison and getting her out of the way is the first actual chance they might have. This explains why when he found her in the pet shop he was livid, imagine losing the other half to your soul. He may be a dick head sometimes but she has been handling him and they’ll grow closer with time
