About South Park Season 10 Episode 9

I was doing a lot of recording yesterday.....or at least, that was the plan. I started out by watching the next episode of South Park. After I finished watching the episode I checked OBS again and realized that the memory storage on my computer was full and unable to keep recording the video files. It wasn't half the episode, not even 10 minutes of commentary.

1 minute. That's all that got recorded. That's how full my 1TB computer was. Yeah, that bad.

I had already watched the episode completely, and there really isn't a way of re-reacting to something I've already seen; my reactions to South Park episodes are blind reactions for a reason. So unfortunately, there will be no South Park reaction this week, though I will do a review when the time comes. You may think I could have just watched the next episode instead and published that instead, but I already had to waste a couple of hours copying and clearing my memory and I still had patron requests to fulfill so South Park wasn't as big of a priority in that moment.

At least, I can talk a little about my initial thoughts to the episode, before I really do any research.

Episode 9 was called Mystery of the Urinal Deuce, and focuses on two "conspiracies", one being who took a dump in a boy's urinal, and the truth behind the 9/11 attacks. Cartman and Kyle fight over both the conspiracy of the urinal connecting with 9/11, and whether there was even a 9/11 conspiracy to begin with. I remember talking about some of my own experiences with 9/11, and how that event relates to what I believe is my earliest memory, while simultaneously remaining on Kyle's side and dismissing Cartman for being the dumb-ass he is.

Lo and behind, Cartman "creates" a conspiracy where he believes Kyle was responsible for the 9/11 attacks and that they connect to the urinal incident, which causes problems for Kyle and by proxy Stan. Kyle and Stan go out to disprove Cartman's theory, only to run into heaps of trouble and conspiracies all around. The government, and President Bush, try to convince Stan and Kyle that they planned the 9/11 attacks for money and oil, and through ridiculous means it's all revealed to be a scam in of itself. One conspiracy theory topples after another, and by the end Kyle is left stumped and called a dumbass once everyone says that of course extremists were behind the attack, and that Stan was the one who took a dump in the school urinal.

There are also these two clue-solving guys called the Hardly Boys that are following "clues" and are just flat out weird, and it's constantly brought up that 1/4 of the population are dumbasses that believe 9/11 was planned.....but those are the main points of the episode.

I gotta say, this episode stumped me. Often South Park episodes confuse me but I more or less have a good idea of how or why. But this one....I was very lost by the end. Trying to figure out the reasonings behind the crazy schemes and conspiracies and how in the world everyone connected events in their own stupid ways, it completely boggled my mind.

One thing was for sure; these conspiracy theories were so dumb, and I get the feeling Stone and Parker felt the same way. Because if so many people even 5 years later believed the 9/11 attacks were a conspiracy in some way, I just want to thrust my open palm right on my forehead in disbelief. I also talked about disproving in the most simple and logical way why Kyle couldn't have been behind the 9/11 attacks (though the urinal incident was up for debate and even by the end I both did not care and did not even guess that it was Stan all along), even though I really did not need to.

But this truly was a bizarre and ridiculous episode, but I think I'll know more once I do some research on it in the future. And I think that's pretty much it! Sorry I couldn't show you guys my reaction but sometimes, technology just really likes to be a pain in the arse.
