Watching Blizzard: Fun in the sun

Maybe your Memorial Day weekend is about getting outdoors for some summer fun. Or maybe, like me, your Memorial Day weekend is about staying indoors where it is pleasantly cool and I am highly unlikely to get sunburned. Or maybe it’s not a holiday at all in your current time-space location.
But whatever you’re up to over the weekend, I hope you’re having fun out there. After all, there’s lots to do.
So let’s check out the news for the day — and look at the things you could be doing in-game if you’re planning on dodging that first-of-summer sunburn.
Blizzard wants to give you a moment to shine
Anne’s beta adventures continue
Spoiler alert!
It’s time for a look back at WoW history!
- Scott considers the master loot system, and the biggest controversy it ever caused: giving Thori’dal to a Rogue. Master loot is going away in Battle for Azeroth, and maybe it’s past time it did.
Why are we going to war?
- Last week, Ted wrote an editorial about how the Broken Shore doesn’t make sense as a lead-in to war. It was just up for $5+ supporters, but now everyone can read it.
- Obviously people are a little opinionated about the state of the faction war, but I like the comment from FireMageKane, who said, “The topic about flying would be more of a pretense for war. Based on history.”
It really is sad
Don’t forget!
- There’s still time to enter our beta key giveaway if you haven’t yet. So head over to the post and leave a comment!
- For would-be Overwatch players, it’s a free weekend, so you can jump into the game without spending a dime. And if you decide you do want to spend a dime — or, okay, a little more than a dime — the Legendary edition gives you a bunch of bonus skins and comes in at the discounted price of $40. (Or you can grab the ordinary edition for just $20.)
- And we might of mentioned, but there’s a huge anniversary event happening in Overwatch right now, with the best of the game’s brawls and tons of new skin rewards.
- Heroes of the Storm’s anniversary may be a pretty sad little event, but Nexomania is in full swing, and this crazy Lucha Libre event is anything but dull.
- It’s Wrath Timewalking in WoW this week, so go talk to Archmage Timear in Dalaran for a quest to do five Timewalking dungeons. Unless you’re already doing high-level raiding or Mythic+, the reward from doing the quest will probably be a nice upgrade.
That’s all for the week, folks. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you again on Monday. This is Liz, signing out.
