Watching Blizzard: A pirate's life for me

Really, all it took was one mention of Kul Tiras at BlizzCon and I was ready to start singing sea shanties while I ran off to join the nearest pirate crew. Who’s with me? Everyone, right? Soon we’ll have a whole pirate army!

While we wait to round up our pirate crew, let’s look at the news.

Fill out your Heroes of the Dorm bracket for a tiny chance to win cash

• Probably really tiny. But it’s free, so why not fill out your bracket for a chance to win $1,000,000? Everyone could use an extra million.
• Also, that Heroes of the Dorm art is intense. This the Glamour Shots of esports imagery, complete with a dramatic breeze ruffling everyone’s hair. The lens flair! The drama!
• Now that I’m done being distracted by the art, Blizzard has also announced a venue for the Heroic Four matches. Angelenos can now nab tickets to watch live at the Blizzard Arena in Burbank on May 12.

• Okay, that’s a little dramatic. (I blame the influence of that Heroes of the Dorm art. Too much lens flair does terrible things to the mind.) However, our favorite Warden has been nerfed, and not for the first time.

Next week is Hearthstone week

• Starting with a big card reveal on Monday, we’ll finally get a good look at what to expect from the Witchwood expansion. And to celebrate the expansion, there will be free packs for everyone completing daily quests, too. Woo!

This week is also Hearthstone week

• Or maybe Hearthstone/StarCraft week. The latest Brawl celebrates StarCraft’s 20th birthday and rewards winners with three Kobolds and Catacombs packs. So get brawling — you only need one win to snag your free packs.

Apparently Mitch has given up on WoW

• It’s all Monster Hunter all the time now. Or at least that’s what I assume, because he’s written this piece about what WoW could learn from Monster Hunter.

Transmog ahoy!

• Kul Tirans have some awesome pirate-themed armor… and I can only hope transmog versions are available for all of us.
• And here’s a behind the scenes tidbit for you: Alex was apparently surprised that we kept his original headline, “We’re all Davy Jonesing for this Kul Tiran armor.” It’s like he doesn’t even know us.
