Watching Blizzard: What day is it again?

I confess, I’ve already lost track of how many days Battle for Azeroth has been out. The week feels both like it has stretched on forever and also like it has been too short to get anything done (I’m only level 114). Time is weird, y’all.

But instead of talking about the vagaries of time, let’s talk about video games.

We may be getting that Azshara short soon

• Gamescom in Germany starts next week, and Blizzard’s art for the event features everyone’s favorite fish person. With Azshara front and center, it certainly seems likely we’ll see the next Warbringers.
• And there’s more: every game in Blizzard’s lineup has a panel scheduled, so other announcements could be on the agenda.

Hopefully this isn’t the only Diablo news coming…

• Diablo is officially heading to the Nintendo Switch, and it’s happening this year.
• That’s pretty hype, but let’s hope a port isn’t their only work in progress. Hopefully we’ll hear more at Gamescom.
• There is also the obligatory somewhat awkward Reggie Fils-Aime video introducing the game, with special guest Mike Morhaime.

The crazy story of stress and Overwatch League

• The number of Overwatch League players who have taken breaks or outright quit because of stress has been surprising. But while many teams are struggling with mental health issues, they aren’t all doing anything about it. Tyler talks about the situation.

Warriors are getting buffed! Sort of. Maybe.

• If your Arms Warrior stacked Mastery, this is good news, because it’s getting buffed. If you didn’t, this is bad news because everything else is getting nerfed. Time to go shopping for Mastery.

Dinner time is over, so it’s time for Second Dinner

• I’m talking, of course, about Ben Brode’s new game studio, which has snagged a few more people from the Hearthstone team. All I can say is that this must mean they’re working on something very weird and, probably, very fun.
