(At 10 minutes in) I think the machine of death broke as a result of Sylvy's agreement with Helya. Either Helya did that, or that was what Sylvy was *actually* trying to do when she was screwing with Eyir. Sylvy didn't get all murdercrazy until after Legion. I also imagine that Sylvy was surprised because she didn't know about the Warchief plan. That was a spur-of-the-moment thing because Vol'jin's death was convenient for them.
