Development update - June 2025

Hi folks,

The summer is already in full swing in Europe, with the heat reaching 30C in my city today. I just came back from short vacations, blessing the powerful AC in my favourite cafe. Before I get back into the grind, I wanted to give you an update on what's coming in the next months.

This month I'm working on an update for Jørgen, closing his day 4. I plan to release it the next week already - I'm taking whole two weeks off for a train trip across the continent to celebrate my 30th birthday, so I want to have it ready before then. If that won't be possible, then you can expect it early in July. After that, there is only Lake left before day 4 is finished, and I'll tackle their long overdue update in July.

After that, finally it's time for Day 5. I plan to open the day with an update for multiple characters, hopefully all of them, but as I'm still just working on a concrete plan for the first half of the day, weaving together ideas into a coherent whole, I cannot promise anything yet.

I'm also slowly working on the reworked and expanded version of Broken Harbours, though it has a much lower priority than Dawn Chorus. 2/3 of the new scenes are written, but there's lot of other work to do - adding new audio, recording new music, turning the script into code. September seems like the most possible release date at the moment. It'll be available here starting with Lively Lion tier, on itch.io (for free for everyone who bought a copy already) and we're also planning a Steam release.

In the meantime, Haku is working on assets for pins and acrylic charms, as well as stickers. These should be ready very soon, though it might still take a while before we get them made, as we're planning on self-releasing the merch. I'd love to re-release the soundtrack too alongside other merch, vol.1 for now, but that's not a task as easy as it might seem. Anyway, we hope to finally have something available for you soon!

On the visual side of things, we're still waiting for the Lake x Arvo illustration for the end of Day 3, but we hope it'll be ready soon. We're also waiting for Bakemonoy to have an available commission slot so that we can get something for Torulf's route. I'd love to commission even more artwork soon, hopefully this month, but I need a moment to sit down and prepare a more methodical approach to this, as well as a list of scenes I'd like to have drawn for us.
