Changing Reward Tiers?
Added 2017-07-30 02:49:47 +0000 UTCHi guys. Thank you so much for pledging to my Patreon. I got so many new patrons this month. I'm thinking of changing the $20 reward tier to $25 starting next month to match my commission prices. Would anyone be against that? I'm thinking of also adding a $40 reward tier for maybe fully shaded drawings or a $50 reward tier for 2 shaded drawings.
I may just specify that the $20 tier is for simple shaded drawings and add additional tiers. Also thinking about adding a goal to my patreon and including my patreon in my comics. Let me know what you guys think about the reward tiers.

I honestly think you've been vastly underpricing yourself thus far, so this is a step in the right direction. I mean, $20 for a fully shaded drawing - you've got to think about how many hours to spend completing a piece, and then look at what the hourly rate ends up being. Pricing yourself at anywhere near minimum wage or lower for skilled labour isn't going to be great for your self-image. After all, whether you see yourself as a hobbyist or not, you are being paid by people who enjoy your work - that makes you a professional in my books, at least to a degree. Of course, at the same time it's useful to factor in your clientele - obviously those looking for a drawing for the fun of it are going to be priced way lower than those actually using that work for more profitable ventures. Either way, this kind of revision is important. Your abilities are definitely worth more than you might expect. Adham's right though - changes earlier are better than later. The risks of spooking people increase considerably as your following grows.
