We just added over 2,000 cards. For free.

Hey everyone!

In an effort to continue to avoid reliance on external sources for cards, we've removed all the existing 3rd-party card packs, and replaced them with a huge influx of awesome, free content for everyone in the form of 12 brand new, entirely free card packs.

This amounts to over 2,000 cards all-told, which should more than make up for the removal of the other packs. Of note, several of those packs contained content that was unpopular and often reported, so hopefully we are also raising the quality bar with this new influx.

More things!

Speaking of quality, in the near future, we plan to do an editing pass on the card content. We're aware that there's a fair number of typos and grammatical errors, as well as some wording that doesn't lend itself well to card combos. We plan to take a stab at fixing most of that up, as well as improving the review pipeline to avoid problems in the future.

Another point of feedback is that we should focus on adding more noun cards. This is something we are attempting to address with all future packs - ensuring that there's a healthy balance of noun cards, rather than being too-heavily verb cards.

Finally, we are working on improving public games to the common problem of owners kicking players out, despite their games being openly joinable. This is obviously a crappy experience, so we're thinking about ways to encourage a more friendly attitude.

As always, leave your comments and feedback!

How do I use the pack

Hi, I wonder if there will be any function in the future for also amending hand size. Some of the packs are great but dont really go with others so you end up getting a lot of repeats fairly quickly.

We've heard a fair bit of feedback about the user experience of using and selecting card packs, and it is something we plan to address in the near future. Soon, creating a game will not just show one big screen with all of the options. Instead, it will be a step-by-step process that involves pack decisions as its own step. @Janice - the screen you are talking about (Packs) is confusing right now because it only shows custom, user-created packs, and does not include the official packs (paid or otherwise). This will also change, with the Packs screen instead showing the official packs primarily, with custom packs as a smaller portion. Thank you for the feedback!

I heartily agree, Alex. Overall, better instructions needed. I finally figured out how to create and run a game, but I don't get what the "Card Packs" option at the top does. It apparently offers different packs and a Copy function. Once I copy, I cannot figure out what to do with it or where to go. Better instructions needed: What Card Packs is for, then Do I need to pay for Card Packs, then How to use Card Packs

Okay, I was able to start a game with my cell phone but not my computer, the generate link on the computer using both edge and firefox didnt do anything. I added a ton of additional packs plus all the ones already paid for but how do you play only a specific one pack which I imagine is what is required. (otherwise confusing)? Thus its the mechanics of selecting and starting a game that are not well communicated. ONce in a game it seems to work fine.

Packs are included automatically. The packs you pay for are included by default when you create a game. If you want to choose specific packs to include or exclude, you can do so in the Card Packs portion of game settings.

I cannot figure out how to even load a pack in any game.............

When you log in to allbad.cards, and then create a game, you will see settings that let you choose which packs you're using. All the packs you pay for will be automatically included by default.

Jake

i've subscribed but how do i get them?

The new packs will be included by default when you create a game. I've included a screenshot showing their names on this post.

Jake

Also, do we go in and add them manually to them game, if so what’re they called?
