Quest Academy: Saviours (Chapters 4, 5 and 6)
Added 2024-02-25 05:21:54 +0000 UTCSo, remember I said there would be at least 5 chapters a week? Look at me, I finally kept a promise on Patreon. Who would have ever imagined! Joking aside, sorry for not being in better contact. I will work on that and try to be more active on this.
Also, thank you for the comments. They're fuelling me! Really interested in hearing what you're thinking of the story as we get into it.

I really hope upgrade gets the evolve skill, one because with how she has guided and mentored Sal, and two I really would love her the have the hero name Volvo πππ

2024-06-30 07:27:27 +0000 UTCThats just it though, he IS expanding his combat abilities. He gets this down, he can implant skills in all his gear, and run them with cores. He can have blue shields, absolute counter, analysis, healing, teleport, and mind control all at thensame time without spending any essence.

2024-06-06 18:06:24 +0000 UTCI know itβs a journey and Sal will grow in power but I would love to see him equally committed to expanding his combat capabilities too. I get that it is all connected but some op progress there would be amazing

2024-06-05 00:19:33 +0000 UTCSal is flip-flopping again. He got mad at Hannah for saying he'll only stand behind heroes and was mad because Erika called him a bitch that he decided to train with Brophy and clear dungeons. Now he's saying he doesn't want to be a frontline fighter again. I hope it's not stating he'll avoid the frontlines entirely or he won't make the Savior Class because correct me if I'm wrong, but he has to pass combat and survival classes. I'm hoping he's not rewarded because of his ability without having to pass the curriculum.

2024-04-12 06:39:00 +0000 UTCI was thinking the same, specially bc he got that dungeon heart thingy from the dungeon

2024-02-27 12:11:03 +0000 UTCProtocol and Vulcan seem like great foreshadowing for Sal to craft himself a companion! Also, I miss Divinity.

2024-02-26 17:08:57 +0000 UTCI reread the chapters again, and the solution could be: he wants the optimal weave, his myth crafting ability makes the optimal items, so he needs to transfer that to his skill master.

2024-02-26 00:08:03 +0000 UTCOk so I was thinking about it and I don't know what he would craft for himself. He has a good weapon and good armor. So the only thing he could really do is to craft for his team members. While some of the people on his team could use some nice stuff he can't just go around giving stuff out. My best guess is to try and fix the guys powers first. But after that I think he should get a cloning skill to work. That way he could give his hole team armor and maybe a weapon.

2024-02-25 22:17:23 +0000 UTC100%, it's just that this is a webnovel, not real life. I admit that this can be just me reaching based on past (bad) experiences, but I've read novels where harem came out of nowhere in a setting that could be just a guy hooking up, flirting or even just interacting with different girls, and now I might be always looking out for signs that a novel might lean in that direction.

2024-02-25 21:21:31 +0000 UTCI think there is a fundamental difference between a guy at university hooking up with girls and a harem.

2024-02-25 20:39:31 +0000 UTCI really like how fun his current relationship w Upgrade is though, I'm reaally hoping this won't turn into a teacher-student romance. Like, it's not harem (I hope), so it could be worse, and I'd read even if they got together bc I'm way too invested now, but it's not how i hope it turns out. Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm genuinely scared that it might turn out as a harem romance, bc then I'd have spent money on a series I dnf-ed. I've had plenty experience with getting invested in a novel/series only for it to turn out a harem fantasy, and Sal sure as heck has a lot of flirtatious interactions/possible romantic interests, so I'm hoping that I don't end up dropping another series yet again. Anyways, I'm team Divinity through and through

2024-02-25 17:44:39 +0000 UTCI said something similar on the last book but more along the lines of βit would be funny if him and Erika got togetherβ. However I want him and upgrade to get together even though itβs probably not very appropriate, right now especially. Though someone did say in this Post-apocalyptic Earth that peopleβs sensibilities might be more forgiven, especially if the population is low. As long as theyβre both adults it wonβt matter but thatβs just a thought.

2024-02-25 17:14:42 +0000 UTCGreat work, love the chapters. Looking forward to seeing Sal use his own power more effectively. Really intriguing thought to how Ericka said βSal could solo the dungeon if he wanted to and become the most powerful hero ever.β Wondering if Sal is going to continue taking a support role and prioritize helping others or eventually evolve into more of a do it all hero. Sal could merge all the best abilities into other more overpowered abilities. Like there was one mention of inferno of dragons ability, imagine Sal combining that with something else. Will be awesome to see Sal continued evolution. Keep up the great work, looking forward to upcoming chapters!

2024-02-25 16:10:20 +0000 UTCSo Iβve probably missed some past discussions and itβs not really pertinent to these chapters. But am I the only one hoping for something between Sal and Erika?

2024-02-25 15:24:30 +0000 UTClove the new chapters and where the story is heading! honestly though, i feel like erika has terrible execution but some good reasoning. like both of his abilities have tremendous potential and he barely did tremendous things with them previously. i really like that he is finally exploring them, and hopefully he'll do some amazing things in the near future, even if he doesn't want to go to the frontlines (which, while currently in character, i feel like is a shame in some ways). Anyways, keep up the amazing work, I look forward to the next chapters!

2024-02-25 14:21:57 +0000 UTCI'm appreciating the delve into more of the mechanics of how skills work in-universe. For the first two books--which admittedly cover only a few months--we had a basic understanding, but (like other people) I was puzzled at how Sal wasn't exploring his own ability. Erica is fundamentally unlikeable and pretty clearly is verging on (if not outright having) narcissistic personality disorder, but her point about Sal's underutilization of Skill Master wasn't without merit. If I have any feedback for this batch of chapters, it would be that Sal acquiring some of this knowledge via experimentation is good from a narrative standpoint (as it brings the reader along), but if this society was able to construct the Skill Manipulation machine, surely there would be some sort of treatise/manual/textbook on essence and skills available and some of this stuff Sal would already know. Especially if children are acquiring powers (which seems to be a source of Sal's trauma and why he doesn't use his power more), you'd think that there would be a push for mass education about what exactly is happening when people get or use a skill.

2024-02-25 13:35:34 +0000 UTCLove the development of the story, I was so caught up in the skill probabilities, that I was rushing through chapter 5, to get more skill crafting.

2024-02-25 10:35:55 +0000 UTCDon't worry about this. I know myself very well and there will be days where I just sit and read, or days where I'll play games and stay away from the manuscript. Then, there'll be a day where I sit down and crank out multiple chapters in a single sitting. I've been taking it slow and steady with this, and I'm trying to get myself into a healthy routine. Thank you for the concerns though, I appreciate it. :)

2024-02-25 10:12:48 +0000 UTCForcing yourself to write a chapter (almost) every day seems like a great recipe for artistic disaster.

2024-02-25 09:34:19 +0000 UTCOkay stayed up tell 1 am to finish. Love the last chapter the most. Can't imagine totally what he means by rotation of the weave. You have used it several times over both books but it never made sense. The weave is anchored to the essence gates that never move so how would a weave rotate. And then the speed of that rotation makes it more powerful? I should probably reed book 1 again π€. This is not something you need to explain better or change at all it is actually giving me some sense of curiosity to try and comprehend how it all works. I was also interested if people can unknot there own weaves? And if so how are the doing it? π€

2024-02-25 08:46:40 +0000 UTCLove the way the story is heading! It's great to see how Sal is exploring Skill Master. He started his path with the evolution rune for items, and now he's working on evolving abilities! Can't wait to see what's next! Thanks for the chapters!
