First of all, a massive thank you for the condolences over the past week. My grandmother passed away on Saturday and a great-aunt the day afterwards. In Ireland, we have a ceremony of sorts called a wake, which is where the family spends time with the deceased, celebrating their life for a few days. As a result, I didn't get much writing done. I only have two chapters this week, and I'll be heading off to DragonCon on Wednesday for a week, and it's unlikely I'll get many words when I'm there.
So, it'll be Monday the 9th before I return to the normal cadence of chapters. I'm really sorry for the long delay. If by some miracle, I get writing done on the plane or in the hotel between activities, I'll share them with you early.
It also didn't help that I re-wrote 2 chapters a few times, because I wasn't happy with the intro to the Gala. I need to work it out a little in my own head first. :)
Thanks again for all the encouraging comments, and sorry if I haven't gotten back to messages. All will return to normal soon.

2024-09-09 19:37:54 +0000 UTCHonestly we don’t know that the machine is not working. He put in materials and got a warning about putting in different things then the recipe needs and it failed. Since it managed to successfully upgrade itself we now it’s working and the most likely part right now is that it is missing a component to store/generate his essence types as a big error in his blueprints tends to be him forcing properties with mythcrafter essence which the materials not necessarily would allow

I understand that the machine is not working to get the Fabi ark rolling, but I do not like it. It had the potential to undermine the Gala and start so many possibly ongoing storylines.

2024-08-28 02:59:25 +0000 UTCI think the amount of chapters/book time spent prototyping and building the gun and tracker were comparable. At this point the machine is the story. No matter how you look at it, the MythOS is the predominant aspect of this book. It is important and those details were an investment for future material. Atleast I hope so. You could say spending time with parents is the focus but as of right now that machine is a giant money making device for said parents. It's not like he can take it back to his dorm room at this point.

Not related to the book, (which I’m loving I can’t wait for the Gala) but American seems to have a CON for nearly everything (I’m a kiwi and jealous of some of the ones you have). lol 😂

2024-08-26 23:55:33 +0000 UTCI have a question about the world. Every so often it strikes me as a bit steampunk in Sal’s gun or fashion. Like the gala, Sal wearing a high collar tailcoat. My question would be is the world more steampunk with cores or essence replacing steam? Hope I’m not being dumb asking. I enjoyed the chapters and hope you enjoy your trip.

I will admit I thoroughly enjoy the back and forth between Sal and Petro. It is just hilarious. And ending the first chapter with "don't trust a thing Barry says" was perfect. Had me literally laughing out loud.
