Okay so this is my first time commenting on this book series but I really do love it and I've followed it from the very first publication. The relationship here doesn't seem as real to me. Yeah he's interested in Fabi, but he has some deep rooted attachments to Divinity. She obviously saw something when she was wearing the monocle that proves that he has feelings for even though he's denying them. That was a brilliant struck by the way. But things with Fabi falling into place just a little too easily. I love the idea of a storybook Romance like in the movies where the guy meets the girl in the middle of the ball. But real relationships are built on trust and mutual respect. They have to weather storms and can't just not into place. This is a book about a Crafter and as a crafter he needs to understand at least on instinctual level that things need to be tested and tried to really last. Plus I want to point out something from the last book. When he made the circlet for Divinity, he was not following a blueprint or making any kind of plan he was putting his heart into the craft because he actually has feelings for her. I think if you were to make something for Fabi it could never go Beyond the Mythic grade. Is skill right now is capped and the only reason why I think the circlet was able to surpass his own limitations is because he used his feelings for Divinity in The Craft. That being said I do think that there may have been a vision of him ending up with Fabi but he has a remarkable way of thwarting Divinity precognition. I get the Impressions from the story so far that Divinity has never had anyone as capable as he is of circumventing her ability before. In the end I'm hoping that the author is making this Fabi situation into a road bump in the story of Sal and Divinity. Every good Storyteller knows that stories go in cycles. A story will never truly end until it returns to its beginning. Well there are elements of that with Fabi because they had a relationship as children I don't think that there's been enough of that in the story to validate her as a love interest. Plus a part of me really wants to see Barry end up with Victoria.

Why did she not help her team by seeing if Sal could do something for Fabi earlier? And where are Sakura and the team support Obrien, did they not come to the meeting or did they not get invites?

For the Repair ability: I thought it is regulated by the powers she puts in. But I agree that Quest does not want to take risks.

Rather the fighting back demons to reclaim land or defend people these hero joined up to be treasure hunters. The delvers guild has already been painted as a place of greed and nepotism.

She makes a ton of relatively cheap intro courses for crafter's taking them through a range of subjects, considering her talents as a crafter that was a fairly massive investment of time trying to offer something that would help newer crafter's to learn outside their lessons

And the Delvers guild has a generally terrible reputation and some of it's members are really crap people which I think is Roberts problem with them. Plus for some of them they probably died unnecessarily, so unlike those who gave their life to save people ect there's not much Robert would be willing to say about their deaths

Or maybe, theorize on Dr Ameye, "it's only a matter of time before he (Sal) gets wisked away to work on the projects I refused to make. Weaponry that no single entity should have access to. Do you really think he (Richard) would play nice because your son is a first year?" Sal," we'll deal with any problems when they come up but the Hunter's Bureau needs me because of the Skill Master project. They won't get new or improved weaves without me so I'm safe... trust me." Dr Ameye," That's what this is! You didn't inherit the Mythcrafter ability but created it... didn't you?" Dr Ameye knew about the mythcrafter being Sal because of Chatfeild and the request for materials in book 2. He knew about prior skill weave implants but it is only at the gala that he seems to learn Sal is helping with the Skill Master project. While it is true that Sal created his own skill it is one hell of a leap for Ameye to figure that out. -----‐‐---------------------- Sal," I won't ever go to Ameye Locomotive." Dr Ameye," How are you so resolute that there are 2 levels after Mythic." I think this is the real reason Divinty isn't in the middle of things. Oracle is the Guilds secret weapon. She has her thumb on the scales of Fate no matter what Sophia might believe. -------------------‐‐---------- He (Sal) didn't want to stand in the middle of the reception area, so he quickly moved over to the table and retrieved his tablet. .... Dr Ameye announced to the room that the mythcrafter was there and a little while later Sal left the tablet with all the machines blueprints unattended to go talk. Yeah.. to be clear Upgrade and Fabi are busy, the parents are focused on Ameye and nobody is watching the tablet. Surely no one could have figured out a way to copy anything off that tablet in such a short period of time. ---------------‐-‐--------------- Fabi," Hephaestus is hard to say and a little on the nose, but we could probably pick something with a little more style." My vote is for calling the machine a Forge. Unless you're planning to put the dungeon core in it and making it smart enough to do it's own calculations. Then it needs a real name. ----------‐--------------------- Fabi," I mean it though, even giving you the entire catalog of courses on the credit store wouldn't make a dent on the debt I owe you." Fabi," I still have another semester to go and I'll be taking as many Master classes as possible." Could she be his Essence Programming Instructor? She said she had another semester to finish up. If she had a free period she could take over the course. If she really offers a whole catalog of online courses it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to do a class. Maybe have a Master Class instructor come in after she's got Sal caught up. And they can both learn under them. Chapter 36 is sobering with the list of deaths. I feel there's something important with Delvers having more deaths than any other guild but not sure what. Maybe they are being treated as expendable and Robert's not happy about that. Anyway. Looking forward to next week.

2024-09-18 01:15:04 +0000 UTCI found her a bit off-putting. Sal's all about helping the underdog. Blathnaid's suggestion to recruit anyone who fails actually fits his mentality perfectly. With the right gear and weaves they wouldn't be failing. And Fabi's mentality is that if someone doesn't make the cut, they don't bring any value. I'm still hoping Divinity set them up to get Sal some relationship training to show him that what he thinks is right for him is actually exactly the wrong thing for him.

So many partial stories thar keep getting cut off for another less likely story. Fabi is going to be broken after all these life changing revelations and I can't wait!!!!

Always moving people as pieces on her board to win the game. When she broke down crying to manipulate Sal and Barry, then immediately switched it off was a big red flag for me. Let's be honest, she wouldn't be in saviors without Sal.

2024-09-17 19:15:57 +0000 UTCThink she might be more hurt than jealous. But I don’t think she would be a good match for Sal. She’s come off to me as being almost on her high horse at times with him. Getting mad at him for things she has seen but he hasn’t done, telling him that he needs to do better while she goes around and manipulates friends instead of telling them the truth. She can’t see everything and sometimes she doesn’t trust enough for people to do the right thing. It would also be super hard on a relationship if the other person knows what is going to happen and the other didn’t resentment could come up on both ends. I think divinity has gotten better but I like how open and honest and straightforward fabi is being.

Especially after her admitting the thing with doc was such a small possibility that she didn’t think it would happen. On the other hand Fabi is also great. Fabi is great, but does she really think she only gets the repair ability? 😏 And is the sniper rifle already mythic grade and a part of a showcase for a new hero? 😎 The doc, well no surprise there but that is a good thing, brilliant, a bit aloof, has a grudge but still helps. Comes across like he knows when and with whom to pick a fight.
