Startled and still discombobulated, the Proprietor rushed out of his office and straight to the bar. There he saw Zoe restocking the shelves with bottles of whiskey. The Proprietor breathed a sigh of relief knowing that the vision was nothing more than a figment of his imagination. Also knowing that Ellaine would be an awful barmaid and Zoe an even worse Wizard.
He stepped back to his office and reorganized his papers. Moments later the door creaked open as Ellaine entered.
Ellaine: "I sensed great panic and alarm from you, what is it? what happened?"
Proprietor: "Nothing, it was nothing, just a nightmare"
Ellaine: "Nightmare? in the middle of the day.... were you sleeping at work?"
Proprietor: "What?! No! of course not"
Unsatisfied with the answer, Ellaine's eyes squinted and gave the man a long hard look. She noticed dark circles around his unfocused eyes even darker than the usual and some symptoms of hysteria.
Ellaine: "When was the last time you laid in bed?"
Proprietor: "Huh? I'm not sure, I don't remember"
Ellaine: "Ah! I thought that might be the case, anyway I must insist that you retire for now and have a proper rest. I will take care of things in your stead."
The Proprietor did not protest and retreated to his bedroom.
