WC: 7K

For the first time, you were allowed to ride the first car with Namjoon and Seokjin while the others split in the other two cars. Taehyung gloated, saying he could just run in his wolf form and he’d get there before any of you, but Jimin complained that he didn’t have all the trouble to wash and brush his fur for him to make it to the ceremony looking all matted and covered in dirt.

The two wolves were the first ones to jump off the cars as soon as your group parked at the entrance of Dalju’s national forest. You followed after the boys, staying close to Namjoon as you grew nervous by the minute.

You didn’t have to walk far into the massive woodland to reach the ceremony, hearing howls and laughs before you even saw anyone.

And you had to agree with Hyejin, now that you were here.

The space was pretty, lively, and filled with werewolves having fun. You could feel the excitement filling the air, so much so you would get easily overwhelmed if you took a deep breath.

Light strings connected most trees around the clearing, creating a whimsical feel as the warm lights made everything look even prettier. You could see a few different niches here and there; like cut up wooden trunks with candles and other objects you couldn’t quite identify from so far away, tables with a lot of food and fruits, thick rugs on the dirt floor in an area full of small pups, and a lot more that you were sure you hadn’t seen yet.

Most people were wearing white and had all kinds of pretty flower arrangements in their hair, but you saw the odd color here and there, especially on older wolves.

As soon as your pack walked into the clearing, you noticed gasps and more excited chirps as Bangtan was seen. Not that you blamed the younger boys and girls that couldn’t mask their elation. The five men were gorgeous, and the two wolves were stunning. All walking in with high chins and puffed chests, as if they owned the place. The sheer power the alpha-pack exuded made even you a little intimidated.

It didn’t take long at all for another pack to approach; you counted eight males before you slipped behind Namjoon in an attempt to hide. Jungkook and Hoseok were standing on either side of the leader and Taehyung stayed next to you. Touching the wolf’s fur always calmed you greatly.

“So I guess it’s true, Bangtan is finally back.” the man speaking wasn’t the tallest of the pack, but he was the strongest and his posture was different from the other boys. He had an easy smile on his face, but there was something about him that made you want to stay alert. “It’s good to see you guys. Hey, Kook.”

“Chan.” Jungkook bowed his head to the man, posture a little tense.

“How are you guys?” Namjoon asked politely, and you couldn’t see his face, but you could feel his stress.

You didn’t know why, but your hand raised and touched the leader’s back in an attempt to soothe him in any way that you could, and you were really proud as it seemed to work; at least a little. Namjoon took a deep breath and his shoulders rose and fell, losing some of the tension they held. You noticed Yoongi looking at you with knitted brows.

“We’ve been good, things are calm here. We hope it stays like that.” Chan was clearly the pack leader. From where you were hiding behind the boys, you could see he was wearing white, as were most of his members.

“I can assure you we don’t want to bring you any trouble, Chan-ssi.” Hobi told the man in a very diplomatic tone.

They were obviously talking about something you didn’t quite understand, but it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out it was about the Southside wolves. You could guess that local packs knew of the territory division in Seoul, and how South and North were fighting. And if the biggest North pack was in Dalju, one might wonder if the Southside might be planning something.

For your sake, you really hoped it wasn’t the case.

“Well, this is a celebration after all, let’s not bore each other with those matters.” Chan said, clasping his hands together and opening a blinding smile you couldn’t help but stare at. “Now, where’s the special little thing I heard so much about?”

The alpha was clearly talking about you, based on the reactions of your pack. Namjoon stood a little tall, Jungkook took a small step back and closer to you, Jimin’s chest rumbled with a low growl.

“You can stop hiding now.” a deep voice laced with sweetness was familiar to you, brave enough to come closer to the protective boys keeping you hidden. “It’s me, Felix. My pack wants to meet you, after I told them so much about you. Come out, little red.”

Felix was wearing a dark colored shirt, as you noticed him for the first time. Taking a small step between Namjoon and Hoseok, who reluctantly parted for the pixie-like man to reach you, he smiled so sweetly you didn’t have a choice but to smile back. He offered a hand to you and shivers covered your skin as you felt the emotion coming out of your alphas.

It was clear to you that this other pack was an important one. Its members looked strong, and they were in a bigger number than Bangtan. You also remembered Seokjin telling you that they were important allies to Bangtan, so offending them was not something you ever wanted to do.

That’s why you accepted Felix’s hand, and allowed him to gently pull you from the safety of your pack, until you were standing out in the open, for everyone to see.

“Well, well.” Chan stood taller than you, circling you like a shark, eyes flitting to your neck for a second. “It’s nice to meet you, Yn.”

You looked down to the floor in what you hoped was a respectful manner. Obviously they all knew your name, and could tell you weren’t one of their kind. Fingers touched your chin, lifting your face to look up at Chan again. There was a commotion behind you, and you could hear the small growl that you knew belonged to Jungkook.

Chan’s fingers were still on your face as you held your breath, hands holding tightly onto the skirt of your dress. You were terrified that one wrong move could set your pack off, or Chan’s. The man looked past you, with a teasing tilt to his head and provoking eyes.

“You smell absolutely divine, darling.” Chan told you in a low tone, nose against your hair as he took a deep breath. “Tell me. Where did Bangtan find a sweet little thing such as yourself?”

“I’m from the north of Seoul.” you hoped the beating of your heart from how nervous and tense you were masked your lie.

“Chan-ssi, allow us to introduce our newest pack member to the others.” Seokjin said as his protective arm circled your waist to slowly pry you from the other alpha. “I’m sure we’ll run into each other again.”

“I sure hope so.” Chan smiled in that deceivingly sweet way of his and nodded his head for his pack to walk in the direction they came from.

“Bye, little red.” Felix waved as he walked backwards, eyes boring you. “Come play hide and seek with us later.”

That was something you would absolutely not be doing tonight, or ever.

As soon as the other pack was gone, you fell against Seokjin’s front with your back, pressing your forehead as you felt a headache start to form. The boys surrounded you as your ears buzzed, so many thoughts running through your mind they didn’t even feel like your own.

That went better than expected. Jimin told the pack bitterly, baring his teeth in the direction of the other pack now that they were far away enough. Considering.

I was this close to tearing Chan apart– Jungkook was still full of pent up energy from seeing his old best friend all over you like that, breathing in your scent, staining you with his.

Yeah, what’s up with that? Hoseok turned to the maknae with disciplinary eyes. Growling? To another pack leader? You could have started a fight.

Me?! Did you not see the way he was touching her?! Jungkook wouldn’t back down to his hyung, not about this.

Guys. Seokjin called, but no one paid attention to him.

I’m with Jungkookie in this one, hyung. Chan knows she belongs to us, he didn’t have any rights to touch her like that. Taehyung defended his friend.

She let him touch her. Hoseok spoke, making Jungkook grunt in annoyance.

You know she didn’t have a choice. Yoongi finally spoke. She did the smart thing and instead of bickering like young pups, we should make sure–

Yah, will you listen to me?! Seokjin snapped, holding you against his body as you were clearly fighting off a bad reaction. I don’t think Yn is doing well.

“Hey, baby, are you okay?” Namjoon’s voice was faint as your eyes started to clear again. “Look at me, little human. Are you with us?”

You blinked the bleary away, still holding onto your head and massaging your temples. You felt dizzy, but it was going away when things started to grow quiet again.

“I’m okay.” you assured him, even if you weren’t so sure of it yourself. “I’m sorry, I guess that was a little overwhelming.”

“You were great, sweetheart.” Yoongi told you, stepping in front of you to touch your face where Chan had held you, covering the black musk scent with his grapefruit and guaiac wood. “Thank you for telling them you were from the Northside.”

“I’m your clever girl, right?” you smiled sheepishly, feeling more like yourself as you focused on Yoongi’s eyes and the protection of your pack.

“Of course you are.” the older man nodded and kissed the top of your head.

When the boys made sure you were okay, Namjoon told the pack to split and make their rounds. They probably had other packs to greet, at least pretend to be a part of the celebration. Namjoon and Seokjin stayed with you, however, which you were glad about.

“Let’s get you something to eat, okay?” Seokjin offered in a way that told you it was a question. His hand was flat on the low of your back, just above the bow of your dress, and you could still feel the warmth of his touch.

“Is there like… A catering service for wolves?” you asked quietly, hoping it wasn’t a silly question.

Both men still chuckled, which made you feel deliciously small between the two of them. A long, banquet style table was displayed on one side of the clearing, filled to the brim with all kinds of food; from pastries to pies, noodles to grilled pieces of meat, fruits so juicy they might rival Taehyung’s strawberries.

“Did you know one way to attract a mate is with food?” Namjoon asked you, patient as ever as he was about to explain yet another wolf rule to you. “By cooking for someone, we can show how we’re able to provide for them, even with something as basic as feeding.”

“Oh, really?” you grinned, throwing a look at Seokjin, whose ears were tinted red.

“Mhm.” Namjoon nodded, picking a bite sized red berry tart and bringing it to your lips. “All of this was made by wolves looking to impress others with their cooking skills. In hopes that will attract someone enough into courting.”

You opened your mouth for Namjoon to feed you, watching how he licked his lips after placing the small tart on your tongue. The flavor exploded in your mouth, sweet and a little citric, but absolutely perfect.

“Maybe you guys shouldn’t eat–” you said with a hand in front of your mouth as you finished chewing; both of them already had something in their hold, but froze.

“Why not?” Jin asked you, and the little bowl of kimchi fried rice he picked looked and smelled amazing.

“I can’t really compete with any of these dishes.” you giggled, looking around sheepishly. “Who knows? Maybe you’ll eat something and fall in love with someone else.”

“I don’t think you need to worry about that, doe.” Jin chuckled and scooped a big chunk of rice with some chopsticks.

The way he was looking at you told you more than you were ready to learn, while craving that his words were genuine at the same time. The three of you walked around the table, tasting whatever looked good, and there wasn’t a single thing you tried that wasn’t absolutely delicious. Maybe Seokjin should start to worry and not you.

“Excuse me!” you heard the little voice at the same time as you felt a tug on your skirt.

“Oh, hello there.” you smiled as you looked down and saw a little girl with a baby pink dress.

The little girl was carrying a small wicker basket filled with little flowers and branches. When you crouched down in front of her, you noticed her pink cheeks and bright yellow eyes.

“I have something for you!” she chirped, looking over the contents of her little basket and choosing a pretty purple wildflower. “Someone sent you this.”

“For me?” you asked, looking at Namjoon and Seokjin to confirm you should accept it. Both men were looking at you fondly and Jin gave you a tiny nod. “Who sent it, little one?”

“You know I can’t tell you!” she giggled and now that her task was done, she waved cutely and ran off to find someone else.

As you got back to your feet, you looked around the clearing, and it wasn’t hard to figure out who sent you the little flower. Yoongi was many meters away, but his eyes were intense, and his wink was telling.

Thank you. You mouthed, hoping his wolf vision would let him read your lips.

“We’ve been here for half an hour and you’re already getting gifts, huh?” Namjoon teased, taking the delicate flower from you and finding a place on your hair for it.

“Oh!” it suddenly clicked; why many wolves had flowers and plants in their hair, why there were little kids running around with baskets. “Is this some sort of courting mail?”

“I don’t think they call it that, but maybe they should.” Seokjin chuckled. “It’s a way for the young ones to participate in the celebration, and for the adults to quietly court whoever they are interested in.”

“You might need to let your hair down, to fit all of the flowers you’ll probably get.” Namjoon said as he touched the side of your face and you melted into his touch.

“Am I allowed to send them too?” you asked, turning your face to kiss Namjoon’s wrist.

The alpha crooned with the biggest smile, gaze falling to your lips.

“You are, if you want to.” Seokjin told you with another small nod.

You could already picture your seven wolves with little flowers in their hair and fur. You doubted you’d be the only one to send it to them, but you’d make sure to do so.

You didn’t stay by the food for long, as it was clearly a very busy spot and you were scared of growing overwhelmed again. Namjoon and Seokjin kept you between the two of them as you walked, every now and then members from other packs would come over to say hello, or wave from afar. Girls and boys wearing white would sometimes whisper and giggle when they passed, and some were bold enough to walk closer while letting out stronger whiffs of pheromones to hopefully attract the alphas.

You couldn’t smell it, but Hyejin had warned you that it was a common practice, and you could tell the men held their breaths or scrunched their noses all together, which clearly disappointed the owner of the scent.

As you crossed a small arch made of twigs and branches, in between two chunky trees, a commotion caught your attention. Three separate groups of wolves –mixed with those that were turned and those that were not– were near the entrance of the thickest part of the woods. They were all clearly excited, waiting for something to happen, as if getting ready to dart into the woods.

“They are getting ready for the mating run.” Hoseok told you as he joined your group, saying something to Seokjin inside their minds that made the eldest of the pack walk away to deal with something else.

“And what’s a mating run?” you asked the tall, lean wolf, slipping your hand into his and looking up at the sharp angles of his handsome face.

“Basically alphas run around the woods, hunting betas and omegas.” Hoseok explained, pulling you closer to his body, letting go of your hand to hold your waist. “With hopes of mating at the end.”

“That’s… Barbaric.” you frowned, looking in the direction of the woods as a loud howl allowed the groups to rush past the trees and start the run.

“Are you against being chased, little human?” Namjoon was a lot closer to you, standing behind you as Hoseok was in front of you. You could feel his warm breath against your neck, which made you tremble.

You couldn’t help remembering your date in the mountains, after your little hike, as you hid from Namjoon and started running, just so he could chase after you and capture you.

So, yeah, maybe you did understand the rush, and maybe it made sense after all.

“No one is forced into anything.” Hoseok continued to explain, soft lips touching your cheek. “If you’re captured by someone, you don’t have to mate them. You don’t even have to really talk to them if you don’t want to. It used to be a lot more serious back in the day, but now it’s just a thrilling game.”

“It can also break the ice, if you’re into someone who is playing too, but don’t know how to approach them.” Namjoon continued, kissing your shoulder softly. “Not to mention, alphas tend to use this as an excuse to prove they are faster or stronger than their competition.”

“Maybe I should hide in the woods and the seven of you can chase me.” you teased with a little giggle, fingers dancing on Hoseok’s chest as you rested against Namjoon’s. “Then the first wolf to find me will be the one I pick.”

“Careful, little human.” Namjoon warned, low and dangerous, chest rumbling against your back. “You might start a war within the pack.”

“Seven wolves fighting for one pretty girl?” Hoseok grinned, and you could swear his teeth looked a little sharper than usual. “Would end in bloodshed.”

“Guess I might never choose, then.”

Taehyung was sure you were the most beautiful creature on earth.

It was a good thing you weren’t a wolf, no omegas would stand a chance next to you. Surely he was biased and would pick you amongst the many suitors that had sent him flowers and courtship offers –he rejected them all, of course–, but he wasn’t the only one to think so.

Your hair got so heavy with all of the flower offerings sent your way that your bun had already dropped an hour ago, so you could make space for the dozen small pieces of foliage that tiny girls and boys were sent to deliver to you. A fact the Bangtan pack was very much annoyed about, as the many flowers couldn’t possibly belong just to the seven of them.

A fact you were very much oblivious to.

But at least Bangtan’s smeraldo flower was still the bigger piece, extending their claim on you.

“Get him!” came your hushed voice, as Taehyung was distracted enough to protect himself from a wolf attack.

The sting on his neck was barely there as Luna jumped on him with her tiny mouth and even tiny fangs. Taehyung still howled as if he was in great pain, which made the puppy let go immediately and start to bite him in other places. Taehyung’s fur was too thick for the girl’s small teeth to really reach his skin, but he lived for the dramatics.

And the more he whined and huffed, the happier Luna and her twin sister were, and the more you giggled.

The four of you were in a quieter spot of the clearing, where you and Taehyung were babysitting the twins while their parents and grandparents mingled with other packs. You were sitting on the short grass and you had no problem with getting leaves on your dress, which Tae really appreciated. He liked that you didn’t mind getting a little dirty.

Sol was sitting on your lap, way more interested in biting at your finger than play fighting with Taehyung.

The wolf bared his fangs and growled to little Luna, making her whimper and cower back to you. You were still laughing when you held both pups in your arms, sending Taehyung your best growl of your own.

You’re so fucking cute. Taehyung chuckled to himself, which kinda sounded like a cough.

“And you’re mean!” you told him with the scrunch of your nose. “Isn’t he a big bad wolf, girls?”

Taehyung’s big head tilted to the side as he watched you. Did you just answer him? It sounded like an answer. But then again, maybe he was reading too much into it. Although, there were instances when you seemed to listen to them… And Hoseok hyung was absolutely sure you heard Jungkook last night.

And Taehyung really didn’t want that to be true. Not if it meant the maknae was right afterall and you were his mate.

Unless… If you could hear Taehyung too, that would mean you could be his mate as well!

Baby? Doll, can you hear me? He tried, but you were too distracted lifting Luna in the air to kiss her little furry face. You’ll be the best mother one day.

“Huh?” you blinked, looking at Taehyung with a frown. You shook your head as if changing your mind about something.

Focusing a lot harder, tuning out all other noises from his own inner radio station shared with the other members, Taehyung thought about you, looked into your eyes, and tried again:

Baby.

Your head turned to the side as if you heard someone calling from you, which made Taehyung chirp and get up on four legs so he could walk to you. His movement made you look at him again, a small hand reaching to touch the side of his face.

Taehyung leaned in, bumping his head gently against yours as you hugged him by his neck.

Please tell me you can hear me.

“Tae…” you sighed, holding him harder, hands digging into his fur. “Tell me I’m not crazy?”

You’re not. Fuck, you can really hear me?

“I… How?” you whispered, holding onto him as if you were scared that letting go would break this connection.

You could swear you heard the members before, but you didn’t want to believe it. You knew it was impossible, chucked it off to your brain making things up just because you wished to be a real part of the pack for so long. And while it was really weird to have someone’s voice inside your head, you weren’t scared.

If anything, it excited you.

You knew it wasn’t your own brain making it up, you could tell the difference between your own thoughts and Taehyung’s.

I don’t know, doll.

You heard it again. It was faint and barely there, and if Taehyung spoke too much, or tried to complicate things, you knew you’d miss it. You squeezed him a little tighter as he pressed his face against your neck.

“Why?” you couldn’t help but whisper.

Because it’s you.

You smiled, letting go of him when you heard the small whines from Sol and Luna, who started getting fussy from the lack of attention. Or maybe they were hungry, you couldn’t really tell. Taehyung took a step back, reluctantly pulling away from you, so he could nose at them.

They miss their mother. I’ll take them to Hyejin and Wonho, will you look for one of the others?

“Yeah, don’t worry.”

You nodded, letting him guide the twins away from you. Taehyung was such a big wolf, and the girls were so tiny in comparison. You wondered if they would grow to be as big as him. Were they alphas like Hyejin? Omegas like their dad? Or maybe betas? You weren’t sure.

With that thought, you got up from the grass and patted your backside, swishing your dress to get rid of any fallen leaves.

Taehyung told you to look for another pack member, and that’s exactly what you wanted to do. You hadn’t seen Kook in a while, and you really wanted to tell Namjoon of your most recent findings. He was a smart guy, your pack leader, he might be able to explain how you were starting to hear them.

Unfortunately, your sense of smell wasn’t as tuned as the wolves’, so you couldn’t just sniff them out as you walked through the clearing. A few hours had passed since you arrived, the Mating Run had already ended. Some groups were dancing here and there as others played instruments and sang. The songs had a folklore tune to it and told tales from a different time.

As you picked up on some of the lyrics an old lady was singing to a group of small children, you stopped to listen. It talked about humans walking among wolves, living together in peace, where their kind didn’t have to hide from yours anymore. You didn’t know if it was a tale from the past, or hopes for a united future.

Before you could listen to it some more, you felt an overbearing presence crowding your space. Shivers ran up your spine before you heard his voice:

“How brave of them to leave you unattended.” Chan was standing beside you, hands on his back as he looked ahead, to where the elder was singing stories to the pups.

“What makes you think they aren’t watching me right now?” you asked in response, unable to hold yourself from looking at the man’s handsome face. Chan was a lot shorter than any of your alphas, but more muscular than most of them, and still taller than you.

“True. I know if you were mine, I wouldn’t take my eyes off you.” he looked at you then, gaze so intense that it made your stomach flip.

“Thank you for the offer, but I already belong to a pack.” you told him with downcast eyes, as his gaze was too heavy for you to hold for long.

“So I’ve heard. But that’s not quite what I mean, little red.” Chan’s chuckle was light, which did help you relax a little more. Despite his intensity, the alpha wasn’t as intimidating as he could be if he really tried. His hand reached out to push your hair off your shoulder, revealing your unblemished skin. “I see no mark on your neck.”

“I’m not mated yet.” you explained, noticing how Chan was starting to take small steps away from the elderly woman and you followed.

“Yet, hm?” he grinned, clearly amused and satisfied you accepted to walk with him.

You nodded, hands linked in front of you as you didn’t really know what to do with them now that your alphas weren’t next to you for you to hold theirs. “I’m being courted. By the seven of them.”

“Interesting.” Chan scratched his nose with the back of a finger, which you assumed was a nervous tic. His hand slipped inside his white linen pants as he looked at you: “And many more have their eyes on you, I see.”

You frowned, not really sure what he meant as you couldn’t see anybody else looking at you as you peeked around. Some girls were staring at Chan, however. The man was laughing softly as his arm gently bumped against yours.

“Your hair is quite full of offerings.” he explained, which made you smile. Chan reached for your hair, plucking out a small jasmine vine. “I see you accepted mine.”

“You sent this?” you had to stop walking when the man stood in front of you, placing the jasmine into your hair again, picking a nice spot for it himself.

He nodded, motioning to the other vine of jasmine you knew was there somewhere too. “The other one is from Hyunjin. He’s from my pack too, but he wouldn’t challenge me for you.”

“Would you challenge a whole pack for me?” you heard yourself asking, holding back the little haze that was trying to take over your mind.

“If you’d like me to.”

Those words, delivered with such certainty, and the way the alpha was standing so close to you made heat rush to your cheeks. You didn’t want Chan to challenge your alphas, you weren’t into him like that. But there was something about the alpha; his way of speaking, of touching you. It wasn’t offputting nor offensive. He smelled nice. If he had walked into Moonlight before you met your pack, you might have felt attracted to him too.

“How close are you to Jungkook?” he asked you then, making the mist dissipate ever so slightly. Chan started to walk again, standing a little closer to you than before.

“Oh. It’s hard to say, I’m close to all of them…” your cheeks burned just a little warmer as you thought about the maknae. You couldn’t help but look around in search of the aforementioned man, but you didn’t find him. “He was my first kiss within the pack. He’s definitely a spoiled one, but that’s my own fault. I feel like he could get anything out of me if he looked at me with those pretty eyes.”

“Sounds like you like him.” Chan sounded fond, which made you even more relaxed next to him.

“I do.” you stared at the floor as you walked on the short grass path. “Quite a lot, actually.”

“Did you know we used to be best friends?”

“Really?” that made you look up.

“We were neighbors and everything.” Chan nodded with a smile, but it turned somber as he continued: “I’m sure he told you about his family, since you’re so close. What they did to him… He used to sneak into my house when it got too much.”

You had no idea what Chan was talking about, as Jungkook had never told you anything about his past before Bangtan. All you knew was that he’d joined the pack when he was only fourteen, which you did find to be too young. The way Chan spoke about it, however, made you worry.

“I promised him I’d create my own pack one day, and he could join it.” he carried on as you didn’t say anything else. “But he found Bangtan first.”

“I see.” you didn’t really know what to say, not able to imagine Bangtan without Jungkook.

If he wasn’t part of the pack, you might never have gotten closer to the pack, never found out the truth about werewolves. If Jungkook hadn’t shown himself to you, as a wolf, the night he was attacked behind Moonlight, you would still be living in the Southside. And who knows what your neighbor wolves would have done to you.

Shouldn’t you be with your alphas, dove? Hearing Jimin’s voice made you gasp, as it was a lot stronger than Taehyung’s had been when you first heard him. So I guess it’s true. You can hear us.

You looked around, trying to find the one that was talking to you, but you just couldn’t see the golden wolf anywhere. Chan was still talking next to you, but you were afraid that if you focused too much on him, you'd lose the connection with Jimin. It was already faint enough.

And as much as you could apparently hear them, you didn’t think you could speak to them; not like this.

Come find me, dove. Jimin asked, and you felt his pull, but you had no idea where to even begin to look. Focus. Let your instincts guide you.

You huffed in frustration, which made Chan stop talking and look at you with a cocked eyebrow.

“Am I boring you already, little red?”

“No, no, I’m sorry–” you shook your head and waved a hand, feeling the connection to Jimin slipping. “My pack… I think I need to find them, I’ve been gone for too long and I don’t mean to worry them.”

“Okay, then.” Chan didn’t try to stop you, which you appreciated. “I’ll see you again soon.”

You bowed your head in respect and took rushed steps away from him. You had no idea where you were going, trying to open your mind to Jimin, calling to him in hopes he’d answer and tell you where to find him.

You didn’t hear anything, however, taking turns here and there until you found yourself in a deeper part of the enclosed woods. You could tell this place was where the Mating Run had happened, you could see trails on the dirt floor, and big paw prints where wolves had passed.

You could only hope no rogue wolves were still roaming these woods–

Your squeal was muffled by hands covering your mouth as arms wrapped around you and a hard chest pressed against your back. Your panic was quieted as you took a deep, shaky breath, and the cotton and brown sugar scent relaxed every inch of your body.

“Guess you really found me, huh?” Jimin’s voice was in your ear as he uncovered your mouth, sure you weren’t about to scream anymore.

“Jiminie!” you chirped, turning around in his arms to hug him by the neck. “You’re not a wolf anymore–”

As you looked at the blonde man, you realized he probably just turned, as his clothes were opened and a little crooked. The little gasp you let out wasn’t caused by a fright anymore, as you gawked at Jimin’s naked chest and ripped stomach as his opened shirt didn’t hide his body from your eyes.

“Like what you see, little dove?”

“Very much so.” you nodded, reaching out to place your hand on his abs, feeling him flex his muscles under your fingertips. “You’re gorgeous.”

You wouldn’t dare say Park Jimin blushed over your compliment, but his pretty cheeks were dusted pink. Your free hand joined the first one as Jimin allowed you to run your fingers over the ridges of his stomach, moving up to his strong chest. Jimin was crooning happily the more you explored his body.

Being so close to him, you also felt as he tensed up and shivers covered his lithe body. When you looked at his face again, his eyes were glowing yellow. The small grown spilling from his lips was a menacing one.

“You smell terrible.” Jimin stated and you were almost offended. “Why can I scent another alpha on you?”

“Oh, uh, well–”

You were sure Chan was the one Jimin was scenting on you, as the other alpha had walked close to you, brushed your arm and touched your hair.

Jimin took a step closer to you, then another and another, as you walked backwards, until your back pressed against the trunk of a tree and you had nowhere to run.

“His pheromones are all over you.” Jimin stated with a disgusted twist of his lips and nose. “Whoever it was, was trying to claim you, dove. Who was it?”

“It’s not important, Minie.” you assured him, not wanting the wolf to search for Chan and start something. “He can’t claim me, only you can.”

“I would still like a word–”

Sensing as Jimin was growing more and more agitated, you met his lips with yours. One of your hand slipped into his soft blond hair as you moved your mouth against his, coaxing him to relax and think of you and nothing else.

“Cover me in your scent instead.” you mumbled against his lips, fingers squeezing the man’s hair. “Please, alpha.”

Jimin groaned and pressed you harder against the tree, parting his lips to push his tongue into your mouth. This was the first time you kissed Jimin while it was just the two of you and away from Taehyung. And it was definitely a little different from last time.

His kiss was a lot more desperate, a lot more wanting. His hands squeezed your hips so hard you moaned; a sound that was eagerly swallowed by the man as he deepened the kiss. Jimin’s tongue explored your mouth and as he pulled away too soon, you tried to chase it.

The man held onto your jaw and forcefully made you face the other way, so that your neck was bared to him. Your moans turned whinier as you rocked your hips to press harder into him, needy for him. Jimin kissed your neck and shoulders, most likely ruining the makeup that was covering your bruises, and you knew he was doing it on purpose too.

“Jimin–” you whimpered, hands touching his chest, dragging down his sides. “Want you so bad.”

“Yeah, little omega?” he groaned, searching for one of your legs, under your dress, to pull and hook around his waist so you could feel more of each other. “I can smell how wet you’re getting… ‘m sure I’m not the only one either.”

“Oh my god.” you scrunched your eyes with embarrassment, realizing any wolf walking by the entrance of the forest would most likely smell your arousal. But it didn’t stop you from pressing yourself against Jimin and rocking your hips.

“Fuck, you’re so sweet–”

…Jungkook?

Jimin pulled away from you all of the sudden, back straightening in alertness.

“What about Jungkook?” you asked him, as you obviously didn’t hear all of it.

What the fuck is he doing–

Jungkook lost his mind–

Where’s–

“I can only pick up pieces of it, what’s going on?!” you cried, letting your leg fall back into place as Jimin let go of you.

“Jungkook got into a fight–”

“What the hell were you thinking?” Namjoon growled as the eight of you walked inside your home.

The leader was holding Jungkook by the neck, as if he was a young pup, even if his size and muscles rivaled his own. The maknae wiggled away from the leader and walked into the living room in heavy stops, throwing himself on the couch with a huge pout on his lips.

The rest of you followed the two men, but none of you was crazy enough to interrupt.

Jungkook had gotten into a physical fight, with Chan of all people. When you and Jimin found him and the rest of the pack, the two alphas had already been separated, but Kook had a few bruises on his face and a busted lip.

Most of those wounds had already healed on the drive back home, thanks to his wolf genes, but Namjoon was still pissed.

“I didn’t start it!” Jungkook defended himself, throwing his arms up as if he was getting worked up again. “Chan challenged me, what was I supposed to do?!”

“Walk away! Ignore it, I don’t know! Not start a fight!” Namjoon spit, so stressed you were starting to feel a little nauseated.

Taehyung was one of the members who noticed how you were getting affected by the two packmates fighting and stood next to you, his wolf head rubbing against your stomach in comfort. You slipped your fingers into his chocolate brown fur to stop them from trembling.

“You know it doesn’t work like that, he’d try to take her if I backed down!” Jungkook’s voice was as loud as Namjoon’s.

“I would love to see him try.” Jimin said, laced with anger. Despite his angelic features, Jimin was scary when angry.

“Kook is right, Namjoonah.” Hoseok was a little more careful as he spoke, not trying to step on the leader’s toes. “I hate to say this, but if he had ignored the challenge, it would send a bad message about Bangtan.”

Jungkook scoffed and raised a hand to point at Hoseok. “See?! They would think we’re all weak! That we can’t protect our own omega.”

Our omega. The simple words sent shivers up your spine.

“Wait– did you fight because of me?” you asked them, bringing everyone’s eyes toward you.

“Chan challenged me for you, yes.” Jungkook’s answer was a lot softer than before.

“It’s a wolf thing. When two alphas are interested in the same… Potential mate,” Yoongi explained. “They challenge each other and whoever wins, gets the courtship rights.”

“What would have happened if he lost?!” you sounded high pitched, holding onto Tae a little harder.

“I would never lose you, baby.” Jungkook spoke with so much certainty that you believed him.

“Chan would still have to fight six of us.” Jimin told you, still buzzing with nerves, gritting his teeth.

“Oh my god, he really did it–” you gasped, thinking out loud.

That was your mistake. The seven alphas turned to you again, some glares were more heated than others. Your eyebrows raised as you were backed into a metaphorical corner.

“You knew he would challenge us, little human?” Namjoon asked you, dangerously low, turning his back on Kook so he could stare you down.

“Not–not really. He said something about it, but I didn’t think he was serious–” you stammered.

“What else did he tell you?” Seokjin asked you, clearly trying to remain calm as his neck flustered.

“Nothing else, I promise.” you insisted.

“Careful there, dove. You wouldn’t want other packs to think you’re up for grabs.” Jimin warned and his gaze was too heated for you to keep up with.

“I know who I belong to.” you stated for all of them to hear, staring at your own hands still threaded into Taehyung’s fur.

The heavy tension inside the living room started to dissipate, which made you feel a little better as you made sure your alphas weren’t mad at you. Taehyung licked your wrist and walked away, probably going to turn into his man form within the safety of his room. Jimin and Hoseok left after him, after kissing your forehead and squeezing your arm. Yoongi squeezed your fingers and Seokjin rubbed your back before they left.

Only you, Namjoon and Jungkook were left in the living room. You knew the leader still wanted to give Jungkook a talking to and it really hurt you to think you were the cause –directly or not– for the way the night ended.

“You can go to bed now.” Namjoon told you, the tiredness behind his eyes making your heart clench for a whole other reason. You tried arguing, maybe you should apologize, but Namjoon didn’t let you. “We’ll see you in the morning.”

“Okay.” you sighed, looking at Jungkook with sad eyes. He offered you a small, reassuring smile. “Goodnight then.”

You left both men behind, sure they would wait until you were out of earshot before they started talking again. You had guilt heavy in your chest as you reached your bedroom and closed your door behind you. If you hadn’t talked to Chan tonight, maybe he wouldn’t get the idea to challenge Kook for you, they wouldn’t have fought and the younger boy wouldn’t be in trouble right now.

You didn’t even know why Chan had been so interested in you in the first place. He knew you weren’t a wolf! In fact, you were pretty sure everyone there knew that, yet, you still got delivered flower offerings that were still stuck to your hair.

Walking to your dresser, you took out the hairpin with the smeraldo flower first, safely storing it inside its box. Looking in the mirror, you started to pluck flower by flower, foliage by foliage, well aware your pack wasn’t the sole senders of those gifts.

Each day that passed you grew more and more confused, as if you were losing a little of your self-awareness. Weird things had been happening ever since you met the boys, made even worse when you started living with them. You could feel yourself changing, finding new things about yourself.

You could scent people now. Could recognize the boys’ distinct smells and pinpoint who was closer to you. Even worse than that, you could hear other voices in your head? Not to mention how clearly affected you were by pheromones that shouldn’t do anything to you. The haze you felt when it got too much… You knew that shouldn’t happen, you didn’t need the members to tell you so.

You weren’t sure who you were anymore.

The small tap on the glass door of your balcony door pulled you out of your thoughts, when you were just staring mindlessly at your reflection in the mirror, wondering who the girl staring back at you was.

When you looked at the door separating your room from the balcony, you saw a curly haired man with a boxy smile and suddenly you didn’t mind if you were becoming a new person. Not if that person found somewhere she could belong to.

You walked to the door, unlocking it and opening it wide in case Taehyung wanted to walk in.

“Hey–”

Your greeting was interrupted as his big hands held the sides of your face and he pressed his lips against yours. You melted into him instantly, holding onto his soft cotton shirt.

Unfortunately, he didn’t deepen the kiss, pulling away from you almost as soon as he kissed you.

“Was waiting to do that all day.” he told you with a breathy smile.

“Don’t you wanna do it again?” you sheepishly pouted.

“Namjoon hyung told us to leave you alone tonight.” Tae pouted harder, still not stepping foot inside your room. “Said tonight was too much, and we shouldn’t overwhelm you.”

“He’s right, but I wouldn’t mind being overwhelmed by you.”

Taehyung whined pitifully as he looked far into the distance, most likely being scolded by a hyung, even if you couldn’t hear it.

“I know, I know, I’m going!” he said loud enough for whoever it was to hear him. “Goodnight, baby.”

“Goodnight, Taetae.”

With a small giggle you watched him turn around and rush down the stairs of your balcony, getting lost in the darkness of the night.

Yeah. You’d be okay.

As a short person myself, i find it very interesting they're calling her "little"

Ohhh boy I called it! Channie is asking for trouble but I loved every second of it. I can just imagine Yoongi accept a flower from his clever girl with pride and burning cheeks.🫠🫠🫠 omg I think I’m gonna need a moment lol

What the above writer said. This is my first wolf story and I am falling in love. I joined Patreon just so I could read it. I can’t wait to see who she chooses. But I suspect all. And I to think she is part wolf. Can’t wait to see.

This was such a good chapter... can I be a brat and say 7k wasn't enough? I really love this world you are weaving with your words. I'm beginning to wonder if she has some sort of cloak over her hiding her true nature as a wolf. Or is it like a true mate thing, like soulmates that transcends human/wolf, so that the other takes on wolf traits. Though a lot of wolves seem too impacted by her for that... ughhh I need more! Respectfully <3 hehehe
