Supervideo is Imminent

The opening needs a serious style pass. A lot of frankensteining is still in order. But it finally has form... this is basically the first half, enjoy :)

Please pardon my noobness: Did the Discord server ever happen? I don't see it here (or there). Would love to chat with other writers.

Dustin Adams

Rhyan thanks for doing the heavy lifting for me 😅 yeah that about sums it up: You need to know the character to write the character. But the process of revealing information is a valid question. I like a character’s very first scene to communicate their deepest drives. Basically a save the cat principle

LocalScriptMan

Haha I actually paid editors for this one, so can’t take credit

LocalScriptMan

I known they're just stick figures, but you got really good at drawing

Party Duarty

Im vibrating with excitement for this video to drop

General audiences aren't gonna pick up on a lot of the internal stuff comsciously since most people are passive viewers, but that doesn't mean its inclusion isn't worthwhile. Most people wouldn't be able to put into words why watching Sam carry Frodo up the mountain is so powerful to them, but it is, because they're subconsciously picking up on all of that internal stuff and that's why they're invested in the first place. When all of that's not there, they'll notice. Trust me, they don't need to understand everything about your characters to fall in love with their journey. Don't worry about making sure the audience understands everything, don't worry about the audience at all. You'll be okay so long as YOU are satisfied with the art's quality.

holy shit it's happening!!!

How do we actually SHOW the character sheet to an audience? How much do they need to know? When do they need to know it? Are you going to talk about this kind of stuff? E.g.: Urge: avoids people -> Obvious through action. Why: because he thinks he's unlikable -> ??? How and when do I show this? Or when to omit it? "External" Arc: avoids people -> finds a friend "Internal" Arc: ??? How can you show it without stupid exposition? Someone like you would obviously pick up on stuff or infer certain things, but most people aren't you. The general audience doesn't think in character sheets. (Great video btw)

Damn this is probably my favorite video of yours. Can't wait for what's next. Most helpful thing yet after the enneagram.

E FILMS

I think revenge is a base human thing honestly, deeper than all of this. But it can definitely be an urge-level motivation as well. It’s primal, and you can either leave it at that or attach more meaning to it

LocalScriptMan

Whats your thoughts on revenge? Is it a core urge or an external concept that slots in goals?

Mr. Quackers

Thank you hello

LocalScriptMan

Not the end, but it’s going to be a pivot

LocalScriptMan

Amazing conglomeration of all to precede it. Though question: There are numerous references to this being an "end all be all" of the channel. Is this the end? Or simply a summary of what we've been through thus far?

DeluxeTux5249

Amazing work.
