You can tell multiple stories, or multiple versions of the same story. Sometimes you go one route, reach its logical conclusion and decide you want to try a different option. It’s also good to rank your ideas/components based on how much you actually LIKE them. Regardless of whether or not they make sense - what are the things that MUST stay? Create a hierarchy from “placeholder” to “if there’s one thing that stays, it’s this”

Yes it’s like the first and last draft I’ve made are related through marriage not even by blood. During Covid I watched Marvel movies back to back to back three times in a row and decided I wanted to make a rip off marvel character. My character names have stayed the same although the story itself is a completely different story than it was when I started. I have watched this video probably like four times now in its full. And although helpful I still haven’t been able to just get everything down. I feel like my story process has been widdled down more out of this big picture and idea phase but I can never get below the atmosphere into the surface of the universe I’m creating And now that I actually know what matters to me as a person and as a writer and ALSO as a digital artist, I’ve decided to turn my dystopian, fantasy, sci fi what ever into a comic. Which is ironic cause I decided to steer as far away as possible from superhero esque mediums just to decide to turn it into a NON superhero comic. I eventually had an overflow of ideas and couldn’t contain them all to one story, now I’m dividing it up into different characters and even completely different “books” because I couldn’t keep up. As many drafts I’ve made brainstorms, outlines or so called breakthroughs I’ve never been able to get it out and onto a solid and offical outline. What was preventing me from getting their used to be writers block or lack of originality and NOW it’s that there’s too many ideas. Too many stories to tell. Too many thinks to work through. And all though I have my main story I’ve always stuck to, I’ve thrown away my drafts and completely rethought my story and story beats I haven’t been able to get it down in scene format the way you did in your Ride or Die video. I know you said maybe I need to bring my project to someone else I was just wondering if you have any specific advice on how to get into the stages of where I can chistle my story down to the point where I can just focus on creative direction. And last thing I have questions on how you go about handling different characters perspectives. How do you know how to handle the formatting and how those character arcs interact (this one is geared towards the idea that your characters have separate ennegarams that interact through the story) (Apologies I didn’t mean to comment a novel)

Because I've noticed that I'll just start writing paragraphs about how things are starting and get frustrated I'm not able to see my characters in full form or making the events I want to see happen. So Outlining it is.

There's a improvement method in companies that's called why-why-analysis which is doing the exact same thing: asking 'but whyyy', like a little kid until you get down to the core of a problem. As many times the core is rather higher up in ranks, the analysis is not used very often, despite its effectiveness. All the smarter to use it here. And it doesn't just help in getting to know the characters better but also that type of digging can bring up good reasons for having this or that happening in the plot, like an actual 'this happened because of that' vs the good old 'and then...'. It's great!
