This is probably 90% done. But there are some missing visuals in the last few minutes that make me look like a madman. I'd love any feedback — I'm trapped in my own head on this topic, idk how any of it lands.

In that case, I could almost argue that it's funnier to employ Wilbur's framework exclusively for sci-fi and fantasy, as opposed to discarding it entirely. "Yeah, your theory probably doesn't work for the real world, but it's super useful in literal Fantasy Land." I see your point though. Pseudo-scientists can get icky.

2025-04-28 15:37:08 +0000 UTCThis isn't particularly eloquent but i looked into Ken Wilber and his integral theory in more detail since your last upload, and i don't think it's good tbh. I can kinda see what you're going for but i don't trust this guy or this pseudo-intellectual post-hoc heirarchical dogma he cobbled together. The dude wasn't just shunned by academia "because they loathe heirarchical thinking", he doesn't actually have any scientific basis for most of his ideas, and he and his work have got ties to some sketchy types like known cult leaders and Jordan Peterson. I Maybe see the utility in how you are using his model to try to write different forms of morality, but i'm honestly not that comfortable with using this guy's work as a basis for trying to empathize and write other people's perspectives. I don't think Integral Theory is the best way to do that, and I don't think i would believe much of what Wilber would say on the subject.

2025-04-28 14:26:59 +0000 UTCWhen you were discussing the Planet of the Apes films and mentioned how that trilogy ends with Caesar reaching level 7, only for Proximus to bring things back down to a level 4, it felt comparable to what's going on in the U.S. currently. There was a time when we needed God and Jesus's teachings because we felt it was the only thing that we could rely on, but, eventually, we as a society started to evolve from that and realized that we can still be good people and do great things without having to rely on some religious system to tell us what to do. And now, we have people like Trump and a lot of these far right and anti-woke grifters who are taking advantage of some people's need for that belief system, stripping it of all of its ideas and values, and using it as a means to an end for themselves, even if it hurts the people that they're advertising to. There's an argument to be made that the people who are in need of belief have yet to evolve past level four because of fear and self-doubt. They need someone to give them that stability and tell them that everything's going to be okay. Maybe I'm wrong in my analysis and I'm looking too far into it, but that's what I gathered from that section. Feel free to delete this if you don't want politics in your comments btw Don't want to start a flame war.
