2025-05-26 20:49:59 +0000 UTCNo, the girl in Wirbel’s backstory isn’t Ehre. As seen in the same episode, in Ehre’s own flashback, Wirbel was already an adult when he saved Ehre’s village when she was a kid. And Wirbel said that the girl he loved left 29 years ago and that he was 4 or 5 years old at the time.

2025-05-26 20:25:02 +0000 UTCI like that while Fern is super strong, she’s not unbeatable either. She was able to completely beat Ehre, but Ehre was also right that Fern wouldn’t have been able to beat Wirbel in a direct fight. Fern’s fighting style has her keep her distance and move a lot in the air while rapid fire shooting Frieren’s modified Zoltrack. This means that all Wirbel would need to do to win is look at her and then Fern can no longer use magic nor move. The only reason Fern technically won her encounter with Wirbel is that she did precisely what Ehre said was the strength of Wirbel. Aka, underhanded magic devoid of character. Fern hid her mana completely (something she’s a genius at, being about as competent at doing it as Frieren would spent 1000 years refining that skill), and she took Wirbel by surprise.

2025-05-26 20:24:39 +0000 UTCSomething I love about Lawine (blue clothes ice mage girl) and Kanne (white clothes water mage girl) is that their designs depict how the other is. Lawine is dressed girly, but she is a complete tomboy and the only one of the two to be physically fit and have a lot of stamina. Kanne is dressed like a tomboy, but she is the one who is girly and who has difficulties with physical stuff and has very little stamina. Also, while it isn’t noticeable as much in the English Dub, in the Japanese Dub (and in the way it’s written in the manga), they both speak very differently. Lawine, who dresses girly, speaks very rashly and in a vulgar way with delinquent-like speech patterns. Kanne, who dresses like a tomboy, speaks more politely and with more girly Japanese speech patterns. (I mean, it still is noticeable in the English Dub, but it is still more obvious in the Japanese Dub if one if familiar with Japanese.) I like how we see the tomboy looking one get tired quickly and not have proper running form, while the one in a dress goes into an all out sprint with proper running form.
