July Patreon Check-In!

Hey guys! ✨

First off, just want to say thanks so much with your patience this past little bit. I moved out of my home province a few months back, and it's been a really hectic and busy time. Filming in a new spot still has some issues to work out, but we're getting there!

As you've hopefully noticed, the videos are back and I'm trying to get them out at a steadier pace – I'm going to try and make Saturday my unoffical "DMPUNK VIDEO DAY™" and then sprinkle in some less-edited/yap-session style content to the second channel over the week.

Here's some things you can expect this month in the pipeline:

Why You Should Read Witch Hat Atelier

This is my longest and most thoroughly-edited video yet, and will be the first time I've really spoken at length about WHA after reading it. The video will be spoiler-free, aside from a spoiler-marked final segment that deals with the nature of things later in the series. I'm very excited to finally get it out there!

The Forgotten Game That Inspired Dungeon Meshi

Just when I think I'm out, it pulls me back in.

There's a lot of videos/thinkpieces out there talking about Dungeon Meshi being a perfect representation of Dungeons & Dragons – but Ryoko Kui has actually confirmed that she's never even played a TTRPG before! This is a video on Kui's real main inspiration to set the record straight, the 1980's video game series Wizardry – it's influence on Japanese video games as a whole, and the direct influence it had on Dungeon Meshi's worldbuilding.

Frieren: It's About Time

Before any kind of video essay/analysis style stuff, I'd just like to do a total season review of Frieren S1 (spoilers: I loved it). This might be a video on the main channel, or I might play around with longer, less edited, more discussion/podcast style yap video on the second channel. I haven't really decided yet, but Frieren content is definitely going to happen in some form or another. There's plenty to explore, and I think broadening the series covered on the channel will be a nice change of pace.

(The rest of the S1 reaction videos will be released very, very soon as well! Sorry sorry!)

Summer Season Anime Reactions/Discussions

With a new anime season ahead of us, there's a bunch of seriously-hyped shows just around the corner. DanDaDan S2, Gachiakuta, and The Summer Hikaru Died are on my radar big-time for reactions/discussion content! I'd like to do a DanDaDan: S1 Review on the second channel to gear up for S2, and then get right into it!

Again, thanks for bearing with me! Hope everyone's having a great summer so far! If there's any series you'd like me to check out, or shows/manga you're hype for this summer, leave a comment!

I got a suggestion for when there's a content draught, since second season is in the works will you react to cyberpunk by studio trigger? :D also very hyped for the projects in the works!

I will get back to it, especially being done Frieren now!

would you consider going back to mob psycho100? you'd started it and then never came back to it. it's a show that you would absolutely fall in love with considering you really enjoy character driven stories :3

Seeing a ton of hype for CITY and TFFBWD!

The shows I'm hyped for this summer season are as follow (in no particular order, but separated in hype categories): Most Hyped for: - Dress Up Darling season 2 (one of my favorite arcs from the manga should be adapted in this season) - The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku) (this is one of my favorite romance manga of all time) - CITY the Animation (The trailer looked amazing and the animation is phenomenal. This is by KyoAni and the director of the Nichijou anime and this is an adaptation of another work of the mangaka of Nichijou. And it seems like spiritual successor of sort. I'm so hyped.) Relatively Hyped for: - Clevatess (I've read a bit of the manga and it's really good)(I hope the anime adaptation will be good) - See You Tomorrow at the Food Court (Food Court de, Mata Ashita) (I really like the manga for this one(it's complete). It's a nice Slice-of-Life series. So there isn't really a need for great animation nor any plot rush for its adaptation, so I'm not as worried for the adaptation of this one compared to Clevatess.) - PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT season 2 - Ruri no Houseki (Ruri Rocks) (the trailer looked great animation wise, and it looks cute. Seems like a slice of life about girls and mineralogy.) Looking Forward to: - Karaoke Iko! (Looks fun. It's about a yakuza guy whose group is going to be holding a karaoke competition among its members, and the worst singer will get a weird tattoo. So this yakuza guy enlist the help of a high school choir boy to teach him to sing.) - Silent Witch (looks cute and the animation in the trailer looks quite good) - The Water Magician (no idea if it will be good, but the water magic animation looks interesting) - I also intend to check out the few new Otome shows, but those aren't any that I read the source material for. So I have no idea if they'll be good.

I'm looking forward to all this great content!
