. . . all part of the Journey.

Hello! Ralfy, just as you were saying that whisky (the smell, the taste) is basically the equivalent to viewing a piece of art in a museum, I was having a wonderful inhale of a dram of Aberlour A’Bunadh, thinking how the aroma is like art, and feeling very fortunate that I can experience that and enjoy it. You are SO right! (My dram didn’t fit in with your topic today, but it was worth every cent for its beauty and perfection- I consider that to be a bargain). Cheers!

. . . 'bottle blending' is a great ability !

If you're really lucky, you can get incredible bargains marked 'reduced to clear', especially when it's a whiskey that isn't well known locally. I picked up bottles of Classic Laddie for £27 reduced to clear in my local Tesco a few months ago. You've got to be dedicated though and check weekly and be ready to pull the trigger. Same with craft beer. Also, enjoyed your Jura review Ralfy. Like traditional music tunes, no matter how boring some of them may be, all tunes need to be played. I bought a bottle of Ardmore Legacy a few years ago. Grand. Definitely nothing special. Drank half the bottle and then it got resettled to the back of the shelf with the Highland 12s and the Glenlivet FR. After three or four years though that Ardmore is tasting beautiful. It's delicate, wisps of smoke and menthol notes are lovely and I love surprising mates with it. Some things take time...
