Chapter 17: The Four Temples

We all arrived at the Knights of Favonius headquarters. We entered Jean’s office and we saw both Jean and Lisa present

“Jean, I've brought them.”

“Good work,”

Kaeya then explains to Jean about our fight against Stormterror and the status of the city. After Kaeya’s explanation, she turns to Lumine and Paimon

“Mondstadt welcomes you, windborne travelers, I am Jean, Acting Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius. This is Lisa, our resident Librarian.”

“Ara, a new cutie has come. Are you here to help us out? You both are adorable.”

“Nice to meet you, I'm Lumine.”

“I’m Paimon Lumine’s travel buddy.”

“I would like to thank you two for helping fend off the dragon. That also extends to you as well Jun.”

“I would have helped either way so you don’t need to thank me, Jean.”

“No, your help and Lumines have lessened the damage done by Stormterror. Me not showing appreciation will be seen as insincere by the citizens of Mondstadt.”

“In that case, I’ll take your appreciation.”

“Thank you, as for you Lumine, I’m sorry for the current conditions. If Stormterror had not attacked the Knights of Favonius would have better ways to help you than just putting up missing person posters. We simply ask that you repose in Mondstadt while we help seek out your brother.”

“I want to help with the present circumstances, I could not ignore it.”

“Paimon will help too.”

“Thank you Lumine, Paimon,”

“Jun I would also like to ask for your help as well.”

“Great, do we have a plan, Jean?” Kaeya said

“With Stormterror now directly attacking Mondstadt, we may have the opportunity to cut this problem from its source. Lisa has revealed the sources of Stormterror's power with her detection magic.”

“Is that so?”

“They're located in the abandoned Four Winds' Temples. Stormterror's ability to whip up these kinds of storms can be attributed to it drawing power from the temples,” said Lisa

“Our objective is to deal with three of the four temples. I trust everyone understands why we are only dealing with three.”

“Paimon doesn't,”

“Shh, it must be a local thing,” said Lumine

The 4th temple huh… I don’t even know where it is. It was barely mentioned again in the game. It must have been mentioned somewhere in the lore but I’m not that kind of guy so I’ll just ignore it

“Knights of Favonius, time is against us. The storm is rampant. There is no point in maintaining a defensive position. Alright. We need to take initiative and act before the situation escalates.”

We all nodded and went out to prepare for the temples. The groups were Lumine and Amber, Jean and Kaeya, Me and Lisa. Before we went to the temples Lumine wanted to get more enhancement ore to enhance her sword

“Jun, do you know the way to the blacksmith?”

“Yeah, want me to come with you?”

“Yes, my sword needs to be refined for a while now.”

I brought Lumine and Paimon to the blacksmith and saw Wagner hammering away

“Hello, Wagner, are you still working even though Stormterror just attacked?”

“I need to hammer every day or else my skills will get rusty. So what do you want?”

“My friend here is hoping to get some enhancement ores.”

“Do you have the materials?”

“Right here,” Lumine gave some iron chunks to Wagner

Wagner began to create enhancement ores and when he was done he gave them to Lumine

“Come again if you need me.”

“Thanks, Wagner,”

Lumine brought her enhancement ores to her sword and added mora. The materials disappeared and the sword glowed for a bit. The sword stopped glowing and Lumine saw it and was satisfied. I guess that’s how you enhance weapons in this world. I got my Attache Calibur and my stockpiled enhancement ores and mora from my commissions. I put them into the Attache Calibur and it glowed for a moment before settling. I felt the blade getting stronger and the phenomenon amazed me.

“Is that your weapon?” Lumine asked

“Yeah, it's called the Attache Calibur.”

“The shape is weird.”

“Yeah, Paimon wonders why does it looks like a box?”

“I know but this helps me augment my power when I’m using my armor.”

“That’s amazing, I wonder what else you can do.”

“That’s for me to know and for you to find out.”

“Ah… Paimon wants to find out.”

“All in due time Paimon,” I said while patting her head

“Hey, Paimon is not a kid!”

As we were done with our preparations, me and Lumine separated. She headed to the Temple of the Falcon to meet up with Amber while I headed to the Temple of the Lion.

As I neared the Temple I saw Lisa in the distance waiting for me.

“Hello cutie, you’re finally here.”

“Sorry, Lisa, I showed Lumine to Wagner. She needed to enhance her weapon.”

“Don’t worry I have not waited for too long. I’m excited to finally see you fight. I hope to study your armor if I can hu~hu~.”

“Yeah…” I said with a wry smile

“This is my first time in a domain. Is there anything I need to be aware of?”

“Just watch where you step and you will be fine. Come on, we need to finish this soon.”

We both entered and I saw the ceiling having aurora lights and ancient architecture around me with multiple bonfires lighting the way. I was amazed by the scenery.

“I knew it. There is a strong energy coming deep within this temple.”

“Do you know where it is Lisa?”

“I believe it is coming from over there.”

From a distance, I could see a large temple-like structure

“I guess we now know where to go.”

“Be careful Jun, domains have monsters, puzzles, and traps. I know you are strong but brute forcing your way through won’t help you.”

“I know, I’ll follow your instructions.”

“Huhu it's nice to know you’re sensible. Follow me and stay close.”

We both head deeper into the domain with Lisa leading
