Chapter 37: Breaking Mammoth!

We all headed to Thousand Winds Temple looking for the last fallen tear. A Ruin Guard is supposedly roaming around there guarding the temple. They stand roughly 17 ft tall and are machines that look like it came out of a steampunk setting. They attack with homing missiles and their powerful arms. They have a single eye which can be their weakness like it was in-game. We are going to battle that thing to get the last fallen tear

“Hey, Jun can you tell us what your surprise is.” said Paimon acting a little cutesy

“No, you are going to have to wait.”

“Come on, it won’t hurt for a little peak.”

“No.”

“Cheap.”

Paimon has been trying to make me confess, but I was stubborn and wanted to make its debut a surprise. We were nearing the temple and could see its ruins. It looked like a theater stage. In the center was a circular open field. In front were a stone stage and pillars but were destroyed through the time it existed. In the back were bleachers with different heights to see the open area and stage. As we got closer we could hear loud stompings. We all sneaked closer to see what was causing it. We got closer and saw the ruin guard walking around. It keeps looking at its surroundings looking for any potential intruders

“So that is a ruin guard.” said Lumine surprised by its size

“It really is big. One wrong step and Paimon will be flat as a pancake.”

“Jun, you said you had something to defeat it?” Amber asked

“Yeah, wait here and watch. I’ll deal with it.”

“Hey wait!”

I ran forward ignoring Amber’s worries. I was standing in the open stone field. The ruin guard noticed me and started preparing for battle and I did as well. I took out the Zero-One driver and equipped it to my waist. I then took out the Breaking Mammoth Progrisekey. It was silver and with the ABILITY: PRESS printed on it. I pressed it and opened it revealing the X-ray of a mammoth

[Press!]

[Authorise]

A giant jet appeared above me that was silver in color with yellow lines. It was bulky and had a nose tip with two boosters in the back and wings on the side with giant Breaking Mammoth progrisekeys that seemingly looked like arms and legs.

“What the heck is that!? It’s too big” said Paimon astonished by its size

“So this was the surprise,” said Lumine

“Amazing!” said Amber with stars in her eyes

“I have never seen a machine this big before.” said Jean

“Hmm…” Diluc was analyzing the large jet

“Henshin!”

I inserted the progrisekey to the side of the driver.

[Progrise!]

[Giant waking!]

[Breaking Mammoth!]

[Larger than life to crush like a machine]

A bright light shone on top of me that was coming from the jet. It teleported me inside the jet and I was in my Rising Hopper form. Inside were multiple holographic screens showing the different functions of the mech. There were two handles and foot presses to control the mech. The nose tip folded to the back revealing a head similar to the rising hopper faceplate. The mech became upright with the wings rotating to become arms and stood with the boosters acting as legs. Two tusks-like parts moved to the chest and now the chest looks similar to a mammoth's. Now standing 25 ft tall and weighing 6920 kg was the Breaking Mammoth mech in all its glory

“What the! It's even larger than the ruin guard!” screamed Paimon

“He had this all along.” said Lumine surprised by the mech

“I want to ride it as well!” Amber getting even more excited

“He always surprises us.” said Jean admiring the mech

“You got that right.” said Diluc agreeing with Jean

“Come one! Let’s see who is going to the scrap yard!”

*Grumble*

The ruin guard is on its highest alert seeing the machine larger than itself. The machines move toward each other, each raising their right arms to punch each other. The two fists collide, sending great shockwaves to the surroundings. The ruin guard lost the initial clash sending its fist away. Jun punches the ruin guard dealing heavy damage as the Breaking Mammoth is larger and heavier. The ruin guard was knocked away with some of its armor dented and falling off as it stood up. It put its hands to the floor and multiple holes were seen in its back. Suddenly missiles launched and came down towards Jun. Jun crossed the mech's arms to block the incoming missiles

*BOOM*

The missiles exploded on the mech but the damage was superficial as the armor was made with Space Hiden Alloy increasing the armor’s density

“Nice try! But can you handle this!”

Jun grabbed the tusks in his chest and pulled them apart to be used as blades. The mech went toward the ruin guard and slashed at its right arm. It made a clean cut and the arm fell lifeless to the stone floor

*Grumble…*

Jun kept on slashing at the ruin guard, cutting all of its limbs off. Only the chest with its eyes remains but with all of its limbs gone it can’t move.

“Let’s finish this!”

[Breaking Impact]

Jun launched the giant progrisekey on the mech's left arm and sent it towards the sky. The progrisekey increased in size in the air, and the mech jumped into the air. It gave a kick with the progrisekey at the bottom of its feet towards the ruin guard. The progrisekey made contact with the ruin guard applying a great amount of pressure on top of it before being flattened by all the weight

[Breaking Impact]

The ruin guard exploded leaving its parts everywhere. I disengaged the mech and it became yellow particles disappearing. The other came up to me to ask what happened

“Jun, that was amazing! You gotta let me ride it some other time.” Amber was the first, to congratulate me

“What was that thing Jun! It was so big that Paimon thought it was going to create earthquakes.”

“That was Breaking Mammoth mecha it is mainly used for use in large-scale rescue operations”

“And you just have that lying around?” Lumine was skeptical

“It was the perfect use to put it into action a moment ago. I rarely get to use it.”

“It will be a great help when it is needed. It might help us against Dvalin.” said Jean

“I would not count on it against Dvalin. It has power but it is very slow. It will just be a punching bag for Dvalin.”

“That’s a shame, we should find the last fallen tear and head back to Mondstadt.”

We searched around and found a chest containing the fallen tear. With it being the last we all headed back to Mondstadt
