Chapter 41: Army

Our group headed to the old capital of Mondstadt. It was a peaceful journey toward the old capital as most of our group was well-experienced, and I was the most inexperienced compared to the rest of them. However because of the rider system I barely just reached their standard. We were nearing the old capital and saw our first obstacle

“It's a storm barrier! It looks so dangerous...” said Paimon

“Let me at it. Although the lyre is all I have… I don't need the lyre to break through this kind of storm barri— Ah, wait, what is that?”

Behind us an army of hilichurls. Suddenly appeared to ambush us. With our backs against the storm barrier, we had no choice but to face. Jean lead the group and gave commands

“Enemy attack! Prepare yourselves!”

Venti stood behind the group to not get caught up in the battle  “The stage will need to be cleared before I can begin my performance. Generally speaking, such chores are not the concerns of the performer himself…”

Jean was surveying the army of hilichurls but was confused as they were not supposed to be near here “Wait. What's going on? Something's not right. There shouldn't be any hilichurl camps in the vicinity of Stormterror's Lair…”

Upon looking closer she noticed a faint dark aura surrounding the hilichurls “The aura… is that the same as what happened to Dvalin.” Jean said making the situation more grave

Diluc was getting displeased by the present situation “So our mystery person decided to ambush us, manipulating these hilichurls.”

“The situation has gotten more dangerous. Everyone, stay together! Don’t let them surround us!” Jean commanded

As if on queue the army of hilichurls began to attack us. Mitachurls were the vanguard with their shields and behind them were hilichurls with their clubs. In the back are samachurls casting their magic as well as archers aiming at us. I got my Zero-One driver and Flaming Tiger Progrisekey.

[Fire!]

[Authorise]

[Progrise!]

[Gigant Flare!]

[Flaming Tiger!]

[Explosive power of 100 Bombs]

I inserted the progrisekey into the driver and the tiger and grasshopper ride models formed into my Flamin TIger form. Now completed my transformation I started to fight the hilichurl army. Diluc and Eula were in the front facing the vanguard. Jean, Lumine, and Kaeya were flanking at the sides trying to defeat as many hilichurls as possible, lowering their numbers. Amber and Lisa were supporting the front with Amber shooting pyro-infused arrows and Lisa casting magic raining down lighting to a group of hilichurls. I was the all-rounder in the group helping each side when needed.

Diluc faced many mitachurls with shields which were unfortunately blocking his claymore. I sent flames to the shield, burning them and turning them into ash. Diluc then infused his sword with pyro, sending a flaming phoenix towards the mitachurls. Eula then came forward slashing multiple hilichurls before swinging her sword creating massive pillars of ice and freezing the hilichurls. A purple magic circle appeared overhead of the ice and lighting came down destroying the ice sending ice fragments to more hilichurls.

Kaeya and Lumine were facing their own group of hilichurls. Kaeya created ice floating around him acting as blades. When each blade hits an enemy it cuts them as well as freezes them, slowing their movement. Lumine's fine swordplay defeats many hilichurls with ease. She creates a tornado traveling towards the hilichurls and the tornado sucks them in. The tornado then was cryo-infused as it sucked in the frozen enemies thanks to Kaeya defeating more hilichurls.

Jean was demolishing on her side as well. With her experience as a knight, she was easily able to defeat the hilichurls before her. Coating her blade with anemo energy she easily cut through the hilichurls. She stabbed her sword into the ground creating a wind barrier around her and pushing away all the hilichurls. Multiple flaming arrows suddenly came down in front of her hitting the hilichurls and setting them on fire. The hilichurls screamed in pain as they burned alive and fell to the ground. Jean looked back at Amber giving her a smile as a thank you. Amber noticed this and gave her a smile as well and a thumbs up.

Suddenly tornados, fireballs, and vines sprouting came towards us. We all dodged the incoming attacks. Eula and Diluc had to block the incoming fireballs with their claymores. Kaeya and Lumine run back avoiding the incoming tornadoes. Jean had to jump around to avoid the vines trying to grab her. I sent fire towards the vines to give her some room

“Thank you, Jun.”

“No problem, the samachurls at the back are a problem.”

“Yeah, but we can’t reach them.” Jean said dismayed

I smirked under my helmet as I pulled out the trapping spider progrisekey “But I can!”

[Territory!]

[Authorise]

The giant spider ride model appeared in front of me and screeched towards the hilichurls

[Progrise!]

[Impossible to escape!]

[Trapping Spider!]

[No one can escape its web]

Now in my Trapping Spider form, I shot webs and pulled myself into the air and swung do the back lines by passing the hilichurl army. The archers tried to stop me as they fired their arrows but I dodged them with ease. I webbed up a group of archers into a ball and used it as a flail. I threw it toward a group of samachurls and instantly flattened them or they stuck to the webbed ball. I continued to throw the webbed ball towards more groups of samachurls or archers and the ball kept growing bigger. Deciding to end this I pressed the side of my driver to do the finisher

[Trapping Impact!]

I jumped and eight spider legs appeared around my waist covering my legs and forming into a drill. The legs rotate at high speeds toward the webbed ball

I drilled a hole into the ball of web and it exploded, defeating all the hilichurls trapped within it.
