Yuto approaches, his red eyes studying Izuku's exhausted form. "You've been improving, Izuku," he says, his voice calm and measured. "Your dedication is paying off."
Izuku turns his head, meeting Yuto's gaze. "I... I still have a long way to go," he admits, his voice tinged with a hint of frustration. "I couldn't keep up with you today."
Yuto extends a hand, helping Izuku to his feet. "Don't be so hard on yourself. You're making progress, and that's what matters." He offers Izuku an encouraging nod. "With time and continued effort, you'll be able to match my abilities."
Izuku dusts the sand off his clothes, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Thank you, Yuto-sensei. I won't give up. I'll keep training, no matter how tough it gets."
Yuto studied Izuku, his red eyes narrowing slightly. "I noticed you seem to be a bit distracted. Mind telling me what's wrong?"
Izuku sat up and thought about it, unsure if he should tell Yuto. "It's my application for U.A.," he confesses, his brow furrowed with concern.
Yuto's expression softens. "Is there something wrong with it?"
Izuku's brow furrowed with concern. "No, there is no problem, it's just..." He hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. "What should I write down as my Quirk? I know I have magic now, but I don't think it counts as a Quirk..."
Yuto studied him, his red eyes narrowing slightly. "Then, why don't you just be honest and say you don't have a Quirk? Or is it because you don't like to be called Quirkless?"
Izuku was shocked, realizing he still had trauma from years of being called Quirkless. Yuto noticed this and said, "I know it's hard, Izuku. I understand very well. I was also bullied a lot for being Quirkless."
Izuku's eyes widened. "You were also bullied, sensei?"
Yuto's expression darkened as the memories resurfaced. "Yeah, I got into a lot of fights because of it. When the kids bullied me, I always made sure they left with a black eye. Being Quirkless wasn't easy, but I never let it define me. I fought back, even if it meant getting in trouble."
Listening intently, Izuku realized his mentor had faced similar struggles. "I... I never knew, Yuto-sensei. I always thought you were so confident and strong."
Yuto's gaze grew distant as he recalled his childhood. "I was not always like this. When I was a child, I was quite a problematic child. My parents died soon after I was born, and so my grandmother had to raise me by herself."
Izuku felt a pang of sadness for his mentor. He couldn't imagine the hardships Yuto must have faced growing up without his parents.
"My grandmother used to tell me this all the time," Yuto continued, his voice softening. "To always lift my head up high and bravely face the world even if others put me down. And always get back up and not lose hope."
Izuku listened intently, his admiration for Yuto growing. To have endured such adversity and still emerge as a strong, compassionate individual was truly inspiring.
"She was the one who kept me going, even when the other kids would bully me for being Quirkless," Yuto said, a hint of emotion in his voice. "It wasn't easy, but I learned to fight back and never give up on my dreams."
Izuku felt a surge of empathy for his mentor. He had no idea the challenges Yuto had overcome to become the confident and capable mage he was today. Hearing Yuto's story made Izuku's own struggles feel less daunting.
"Your grandmother sounds like an amazing woman," Izuku said, his voice tinged with reverence. "I'm glad she was there to support you and teach you those important lessons."
Yuto nodded, a small smile forming on his lips. "She was the one who gave me the strength to keep going, no matter what. And now, I want to pass that same strength on to you, Izuku."
Yuto spoke in a calm, measured tone. "So, Izuku, don't let others define you. Even if they tell you, you're Quirkless. Being a hero isn't about having a powerful Quirk, but about what's in your heart." He paused, meeting Izuku's gaze. "Didn't I tell you? A true hero is someone who never loses hope. So keep your head held high."
Izuku felt his eyes begin to shimmer with emotion at Yuto's encouragement. "Yes, thank you, sensei," he replied, the weight of his doubts and insecurities slowly lifting from his shoulders as he looked up at his mentor.
Yuto placed a reassuring hand on Izuku's shoulder, his red eyes reflecting a profound understanding. "You have the potential to be a great hero, Izuku. All you need is the determination to forge your own path, no matter what obstacles stand in your way."
Izuku felt a surge of gratitude and admiration for his teacher. Yuto's unwavering belief in him was exactly what Izuku needed to regain his confidence and rekindle the dream he had nearly given up on.
A few weeks passed, and Yuto and Izuku were walking down the street after their training. Izuku is tired and Yuto comforts him.
Izuku's steps were heavy, his body weary from the intense training session with Yuto. The young mage-in-training glanced up at his mentor, a tinge of exhaustion in his eyes.
Sensing Izuku's fatigue, Yuto placed a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder. "You've worked hard today, Izuku. Take a moment to rest," he said, his voice calm and encouraging.
Yuto and Izuku suddenly heard a scream echoing through the streets. Without hesitation, they took off running towards the source of the disturbance.
As they rounded the corner, they found themselves in a dimly lit alleyway. There, a monstrous figure stood over a cowering woman, its equine head and sharp horn identifying it as the Unicorn Phantom.
The Unicorn Phantom was a humanoid creature with a striking resemblance to a mythical unicorn. Its head was elongated, with a single, deadly-looking horn protruding from the center of its forehead. Long, flowing hair cascaded down its back, and its legs were shaped like a horse's, ending in cloven hooves. The creature's body was covered in segmented armor that gleamed with a bluish sheen, giving it an imposing and intimidating presence.
Yuto steps forward, placing himself between the Unicorn Phantom and the cowering woman. With a swift motion, he kicks the Phantom away, creating distance.
Izuku quickly rushes to the woman's side, checking to see if she is injured. "Are you alright?" he asks, his voice laced with concern.
The woman, visibly shaken but unharmed, nods her head. "Y-yes, I think so," she stammers, relief washing over her features.
Unicorn, its attention now focused on Yuto, lets out a low, guttural growl. "Who are you to interfere with my hunt?" it demands, its voice dripping with malice.
"Someone who will take care of you," Yuto replies, his voice calm and resolute.
Turning to Izuku, Yuto asks, "Izuku, are you ready for your first battle?"
Izuku stands beside his mentor, his expression determined. "Yes, sensei!" he declares.
"Good, let's do this together," Yuto says, reaching for his Wizardriver.
[Driver On, Please!]
[Shabadoobi, Touch Henshin!]
Yuto scans the Flame Ring and Izuku scans the Mage Wizard Ring over their belts.
[Flame, Please! Hii, Hii, Hii-Hii-Hii!]
[Change, Please!]
Yuto transforms into Wizard, his body engulfed in a flash of light as the Wizardriver activates. The crimson armor materializes around him, the ruby-red visor gleaming with power. Wizard takes a defensive stance, his gaze fixed on the Unicorn Phantom.
Beside him, Izuku undergoes his own transformation. The Mage's Belt fastens around his waist, and the jade-colored armor encases his body. Mage's helmet, adorned with a large, ring-shaped visor, settles into place, signaling the completion of his metamorphosis.
The two Riders stand side by side, a formidable duo ready to confront the Unicorn Phantom. Wizard's calm, collected demeanor contrasts with Mage's youthful determination as they prepare to engage the monstrous foe.
Unicorn Phantom lets out a menacing roar, its horn glowing with a bluish light. It charges forward, its hooves thundering against the ground as it prepares to unleash its assault.
Wizard and Mage wield their WizarSwordGuns as Unicorn Phantom charges at them. The monstrous creature's speed is formidable, its hooves pounding the ground as it closes the distance.
Wizard takes the lead, his sword igniting with flames as he swings it in a wide arc. Unicorn deftly dodges the fiery strike, its agility allowing it to weave between the two Riders. Mage attempts to land a hit, but the Phantom's movements are too swift for him to land a solid blow.
Recognizing Unicorn's advantage in speed, Wizard calls out to Mage. "Focus on defense! I'll draw its attention!"
Wizard launches a barrage of fire-infused slashes, forcing Unicorn to redirect its focus. The Phantom's horn glows as it summons a whirlwind of energy, lashing out at Wizard.
[Barrier, Please!]
Mage interposes himself, summoning a shimmering barrier that deflects the attack. He then shifts his WizarSwordGun into Gun Mode, unleashing a volley of energy blasts at Unicorn's flank.
The combined efforts of Wizard and Mage begin to wear down the Phantom's defenses. Unicorn howls in frustration, realizing its speed alone is not enough to overcome the Riders' coordinated assault.
Unicorn Phantom realizes it is outmatched by the combined might of Wizard and Mage. Its attacks are being repelled, and the Riders' coordination is proving too much for the nimble creature to overcome.
Unicorn takes a step back, its glowing horn dimming slightly. "Hmph, it seems I've underestimated you two," the Phantom growls, its voice dripping with disdain. "But this is far from over."
Wizard tightens his grip on his WizarSwordGun, ready to press the attack. "You're not getting away!" he declares, his voice firm.
Unicorn lets out a dark chuckle. "Oh, but I am." The Phantom's body begins to shimmer and distort, as if it is melting into the shadows. "This was merely a taste of my power. Next time, you won't be so fortunate."
Before Wizard or Mage can react, Unicorn Phantom vanishes, leaving behind only a lingering sense of unease. The alleyway is now silent, save for the faint sound of the woman's shaky breathing.
Wizard turns to Mage, his expression unreadable behind the crimson mask. "We'll be ready for him next time," he says, his tone resolute.
Mage nods, his grip tightening on his weapon. "I won't let him get away again," he declares, his youthful determination shining through.
The two Riders survey the empty alleyway, their vigilance unwavering as they prepare for the inevitable next encounter with the elusive Unicorn Phantom.
