A Rider Kick in Marvel ch 138

Ace Ukiyo stirred from his slumber, the soft morning light filtering through the grand windows of his mansion. He rose from the plush bed, his mind already focused on the day ahead. Stretching his limbs, he made his way to the en-suite bathroom, where he freshened up with a quick shower and meticulous grooming.

Stepping out, Ace donned a crisp button-down shirt and slacks, his appearance impeccable as always. With a satisfied nod, he exited his room and made his way towards the dining hall, the aroma of a freshly prepared meal guiding him.

In the spacious dining area, Ace found Izu, his ever-efficient AI companion, carefully arranging the breakfast spread. She looked up, her expression brightening at the sight of her employer.

"Ace-sama, good morning," Izu greeted, her voice calm and professional. "I've prepared a hearty breakfast, as requested. Please, have a seat."

Ace offered Izu a warm smile as he took his place at the elegantly set table. "Thank you, Izu. It all looks delicious."

Ace sat down, and just in time, Lorna entered the dining hall. She looked drowsy and sat at the table across from Ace.

Lorna's vibrant green hair was slightly tousled, and her eyes held a hint of fatigue. She offered Ace a small smile as she took her seat, reaching for the steaming cup of coffee Izu had placed before her.

"Good morning, Lorna," Ace greeted warmly. "Did you sleep well?"

Lorna took a sip of the rich, aromatic brew before responding. "Well enough, I suppose. It's still quite an adjustment, being here in your home." She glanced around the lavish dining room, her gaze taking in the ornate furnishings and elegant decor.

Ace watched as Lorna sipped her coffee, noting the slight furrow in her brow. He sensed there was more to her story than she had initially shared.

"Lorna," Ace began, his tone gentle. "If you don't mind me asking, which school do you attend?"

Lorna's grip on the mug tightened momentarily, and a flash of discomfort crossed her features. "I, uh, I actually haven't been to school since elementary," she admitted, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

Ace's brows raised in surprise, but he maintained his composure, waiting patiently for Lorna to continue.

"After my father, Magneto, found me, he...he took me to live with him," Lorna explained, her gaze downcast. "I haven't had the chance to attend a regular school since then."

She looked up at Ace, a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. "I suppose I'm a bit behind, compared to others my age."

Lorna continued, "I've been studying on my own, with my father's guidance. But it hasn't been the same as attending a real school." She paused, her fingers tapping nervously against the mug. "I suppose you could say I've been homeschooled, in a manner of speaking."

Ace listened intently, his expression one of understanding. "Lorna, there's no need to be ashamed of your circumstances. I'm sure you have worked hard yourself."

Lorna's eyes widened slightly at his words, a sense of relief washing over her. "That's very kind of you to say, Ace."

Ace leaned forward, his gaze steady. "In fact, I have an idea. How would you feel about attending Midtown High with me? I could make the arrangements immediately, if you're interested."

Lorna's breath caught in her throat, her heart racing at the unexpected offer. "Midtown High? You mean, go to school with other students?" She paused, considering the prospect. "I...I think I'd like that, Ace. It would be a chance to experience something I've never had before."

Ace smiled warmly at Lorna. "Then it is settled." He turned to Izu, who stood at the ready. "Izu, please begin the preparations for Lorna's transfer to Midtown High. I want her enrolled as soon as possible."

Izu bowed respectfully. "Understood, Ace-sama. I will have everything taken care of immediately." With that, she exited the dining room, her steps quick and efficient.

Ace and Lorna continued their breakfast, the air between them filled with a sense of anticipation. Ace could barely contain his excitement at the prospect of introducing Lorna to his friends.

"I think you'll really enjoy Midtown High, Lorna," Ace said, taking a sip of his coffee. "The students there are a diverse and welcoming bunch. I'm sure they'll be happy to have you join us."

Lorna nodded, her own enthusiasm growing. "I appreciate you arranging this for me, Ace. It means a lot that you're willing to help me experience a more... normal life."

Ace reached across the table and gave Lorna's hand a gentle squeeze. "Of course. I'm happy to help in any way I can. You deserve the chance to explore the world beyond what your father has shown you."

Lorna returned Ace's smile, feeling a sense of optimism she hadn't experienced in a long time. As they finished their meal, she couldn't help but wonder what new adventures awaited her at Midtown High.

...

Ace and Lorna rode in the sleek, crimson Tridoron, the engine's rumble filling the air. As they navigated the bustling streets of New York, Ace glanced over at his passenger, his expression warm.

"Are you ready for your first day at Midtown High, Lorna?" he asked, his tone encouraging.

Lorna's fingers tightened around the edge of the car seat, a mixture of excitement and nervousness evident on her face. "I think so," she replied, her voice slightly uncertain. "I mean, I'm eager to experience it, but I must admit, I'm a little nervous too."

Ace nodded understandingly. "That's perfectly normal. Starting a new school can be daunting, especially after being homeschooled for so long." He reached over and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "But I know you're going to do great. My friends are all really friendly, and I'm sure they'll make you feel welcome."

Lorna took a deep breath, a small smile spreading across her lips. "Thank you, Ace. I appreciate you giving me this opportunity. It means a lot to me."

As the Tridoron approached the school, Lorna felt a surge of anticipation mixed with trepidation. She was about to embark on a new chapter of her life, one that would challenge her in ways she had never experienced before.

Ace guided the Tridoron into the Midtown High parking lot, the sleek vehicle drawing curious glances from the arriving students. Lorna peered out the window, her emerald eyes taking in the bustling scene before them. The towering school building stood as the focal point, its architecture a blend of modern and classic styles.

Ace turned to Lorna, his expression reassuring. "We're here," he said, his voice calm and steady. "Are you ready?"

Lorna hesitated, her fingers gripping the car door handle. "I... I think so," she replied, her words laced with a touch of apprehension.

Sensing her nervousness, Ace reached over and gently squeezed Lorna's hand. "Hey, it's going to be okay. I'll be right here with you," he assured her. "My friends are great, and they're going to love you. Just be yourself, and you'll do just fine."

Lorna nodded, taking a deep breath to steady her nerves. With Ace's encouragement, she opened the car door and stepped out, her gaze sweeping across the school grounds once more.

Ace joined her, offering a supportive smile. "Shall we?" he asked, extending his hand.

Lorna hesitated for a moment before slipping her hand into Ace's, drawing strength from his presence. Together, they made their way towards the school's entrance, Lorna's heart racing with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension.

Ace and Lorna entered the bustling hallways of Midtown High, drawing the curious gazes of the other students. It was clear that Ace was a well-known figure among his peers, as several students greeted him warmly, eager to catch up on his recent adventures.

Lorna observed the interactions, her emerald eyes taking in the scene with a mixture of fascination and trepidation. She couldn't help but notice the respect and admiration that the other students had for Ace, a testament to his reputation within the school.

"Looks like you've made quite an impression around here," Lorna remarked, her voice laced with a hint of awe.

Ace chuckled, a confident smile playing on his lips. "Well, I may have had a few run-ins with the school bully and his goons when I first arrived," he admitted, his tone nonchalant. "But it's all in the past now. These days, the students know better than to mess with me."

Lorna's eyes widened slightly, her curiosity piqued. "You took on the school bully?" she asked, her voice tinged with a newfound respect.

Ace nodded, his gaze steady. "It was necessary at the time," he explained, "but I prefer to focus on more positive interactions these days. I'm just here to enjoy my time at Midtown High and support my friends."

In the bustling halls of Midtown High, Ace and Lorna made their way through the throng of students, the latter's gaze darting from one familiar face to the next. Suddenly, a voice called out, drawing their attention.

"Ace! Hey, Ace!" Gwen Stacy, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders, waved enthusiastically as she approached them, Peter Parker in tow.

Lorna watched as Gwen's eyes settled on her, a hint of curiosity flickering across the other girl's features. "I haven't seen you around before," Gwen said, her tone friendly. "I'm Gwen, and this is Peter."

Peter offered Lorna a warm smile. "It's nice to meet you. Are you new to Midtown?"

Ace placed a hand on Lorna's shoulder, a gesture of reassurance. "Gwen, Peter, this is Lorna. She'll be joining us here at Midtown starting today." He turned to Lorna, his expression encouraging. "Lorna, these are my good friends, Gwen and Peter."

Lorna felt a flicker of nervousness as she met Gwen and Peter's gaze, but their welcoming demeanor quickly put her at ease. "It's nice to meet you both," she said, her voice soft but sincere. "I'm, um, excited to be here."

Gwen's eyes sparkled with genuine interest. "Well, we're excited to have you!" she exclaimed. "If you need any help getting around or have questions, just let us know. We'll be happy to show you the ropes."

Peter nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. Midtown can be a bit overwhelming at first, but we've got your back," he assured Lorna, his words filled with warmth.

Lorna felt a surge of gratitude, her nerves gradually subsiding as she realized that Ace's friends were just as kind and welcoming as he had described. "Thank you," she said, her lips curving into a grateful smile. "I really appreciate it."

As the group continued their conversation, Lorna couldn't help but feel a sense of relief and anticipation wash over her. With Ace by her side and his friends' support, she knew that navigating this new chapter of her life would be a much less daunting prospect.
