A Rider Kick in Marvel ch 142
Added 2024-10-17 23:24:13 +0000 UTCA few days have passed since Lorna joined Ace in his patrol. Lorna has learned a lot from Ace and enjoys their patrol time.
Soaring above the bustling city, Ace and Lorna, clad in their respective Kamen Rider and Polaris attire, surveyed the streets below.
Ace glanced over at Lorna, a proud smile spreading across his face beneath his mask. "You're really getting the hang of this, Polaris. I'm impressed."
Lorna felt a flush of warmth creep up her cheeks at the compliment. "Thanks, Ace, but I still have a lot to learn. I'm just glad I have you to show me the ropes."
Suddenly, Izu's voice crackled through their communication devices. "Ace-sama, Lorna-sama, Ark has detected an attack on a nearby building. The reports say that aliens are attacking a research compound."
Ace's brow furrowed in concern. "Aliens? Are they the same ones that attacked New York?"
Izu's response was hesitant. "I'm not certain. The energy signatures are different, but the threat appears significant. You and Lorna should investigate immediately."
Without another word, Ace steered the HardTurbuler towards the distressed area, Lorna's heart pounding with a mix of apprehension and determination.
Ace and Lorna, soaring above the city on the HardTurbuler, soon approached the location where the disturbance had been reported. As they drew closer, they could see the source of the commotion – a group of stereotypical green aliens swarming around the compound, their bizarre technology and menacing appearance causing panic among the civilians below.
Without hesitation, Ace guided the HardTurbuler down, and as they touched ground, he quickly transformed into Kamen Rider Geats, the Desire Driver's holographic interface flashing to life around him. Lorna, by his side, donned the sleek Polaris suit, her emerald cloak billowing in the wind.
The pair stopped before the invading aliens, Geats' imposing presence and Polaris' magnetic powers ready to be unleashed against this extraterrestrial threat.
Kamen Rider Geats strode forward, his authoritative voice carrying across the scene. "Alright, listen up. I know you all came a long way, but destroying property is against the law on this planet."
The aliens, their glowing eyes narrowed with malice, paid no heed to Geats' warning. Instead, they unleashed a barrage of energy blasts from their bizarre, insect-like weaponry.
Polaris raised her hands, attempting to manipulate the alien weapons with her magnetic powers, but to her surprise, the energy beams slipped through her control, unaffected by her abilities. Undeterred, she conjured a powerful magnetic field, deflecting the incoming projectiles.
Geats sprung into action, his Desire Driver's holographic display guiding his movements. He dodged the alien attacks with agility, then countered with a series of rapid-fire Magnum Tactical Blasts, the energy bolts slamming into the invaders.
One by one, the aliens fell, their bodies crumbling into a fine, glittering dust that scattered in the wind, leaving no trace behind.
Polaris watched in awe as the alien combatants disintegrated, their bizarre physiology seemingly unable to withstand the Kamen Rider's onslaught. She joined the fray, her magnetic powers enhancing her strikes, but still unable to manipulate the alien technology.
The two heroes fought with unwavering determination, their teamwork and complementary abilities proving a formidable match for the extraterrestrial threat. Geats' precision and Polaris' raw power gradually turned the tide of the battle.
As the last of the aliens fell, Geats and Polaris surveyed the scene, their heavy breathing the only sound that pierced the eerie silence. The compound they had been guarding remained intact, a testament to their successful defense.
Ace, still clad in his Kamen Rider Geats armor, surveyed the aftermath of the battle, his brow furrowed beneath his helmet. Something about the defeated aliens felt off, their bizarre physiology and technology not quite adding up in his mind.
"Lorna, did you notice anything... strange about those aliens?" he asked, his voice modulated by the suit's voice changer.
Polaris, standing beside him, nodded contemplatively. "Yes, I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but they didn't seem entirely... real. Their movements, their weapons, even the way they disintegrated – it all felt a bit too rehearsed, somehow."
Ace hummed in agreement, his gaze sweeping across the compound. "And look at this place – it seems intact, despite the apparent attack. Something's not adding up."
Polaris followed his lead, her eyes scanning the area for any clues. "You're right. Let's take a closer look and see if we can find out what they were after."
The two heroes began carefully examining the compound, searching for any signs of a break-in or stolen items. As they combed through the premises, a sense of unease grew within them, the more they uncovered.
"Ace, over here," Lorna called out, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "It looks like something was taken from the lab, but I can't tell what."
Ace hurried to her side, his eyes narrowing as he took in the scene. "Hmm, the security systems seem to have been disabled, but there's no sign of forced entry. This is getting more and more suspicious."
As Ace and Lorna continued their investigation, a man emerged from the shadows, his eyes widening in recognition as he caught sight of Kamen Rider Geats and Polaris.
"You... you're the Kamen Rider!" the man exclaimed, his voice trembling with a mixture of fear and relief. "And Polaris! Thank goodness you're here."
Ace and Lorna turned to face the newcomer, their postures alert and ready to respond if necessary.
"I'm the head researcher of this facility," the man explained hurriedly. "I was inside when those... those aliens attacked. I hid and watched as they ransacked the place. I'm just grateful you were able to stop them."
The man's gaze darted nervously around the compound, as if expecting the aliens to return at any moment.
"Can you tell us what they were after?" Ace asked, his voice steady and commanding.
The man's eyes darted around nervously as he considered Ace's question. "The aliens... they were after the leftover technology from the invasion a few years ago. We've been studying it here, under the government's orders."
Ace's brow furrowed beneath his Kamen Rider Geats helmet. "Leftover alien tech? Why was your facility tasked with researching it?"
The man swallowed hard, his gaze shifting to the ground. "This whole place was built specifically to study the alien technology. The government wanted us to try and understand it, see if we could reverse-engineer it or find any weaknesses."
Lorna, standing beside Ace, spoke up. "But why would the government want that kind of information? Aren't they supposed to be protecting people?"
The man's expression grew troubled. "I'm not entirely sure. All I know is that we were instructed to keep this research highly classified. The government said it was a matter of national security."
Ace considered the man's words, his mind racing with the implications. "And you just happened to have this sensitive technology on-site when the attack occurred?"
The man nodded reluctantly. "Yes, unfortunately. We were in the middle of running some tests when those... aliens showed up. I have no idea how they knew about it, but they seemed determined to get their hands on it."
Lorna glanced at Ace, her brow furrowed with concern. "Do you think the government is somehow involved in all of this?"
Ace's jaw tightened beneath his mask. "I don't know, but I intend to find out. This is too much of a coincidence for my liking."
The man shifted nervously, sensing the growing tension. "Look, I'm just a researcher. I don't know the full extent of what's going on here. All I can tell you is what I've experienced."
Ace nodded, his mind already formulating a plan. "Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, I suggest you and your team take precautions. Those aliens may come back, and I don't want anyone else getting caught in the crossfire."
The man's eyes widened with alarm. "You think they'll come back? But how can we protect ourselves against something like that?"
Lorna stepped forward, her voice reassuring. "Don't worry, we'll make sure you and your team are safe. Kamen Rider and I will keep an eye on this place and make sure no one else gets hurt."
The man let out a shaky breath, some of the tension leaving his shoulders. "Thank you, both of you. I don't know what we'd do without you two here to protect us."
Ace placed a hand on the man's shoulder, his voice low and serious. "We'll get to the bottom of this, I promise. But in the meantime, keep this information to yourself. The fewer people who know about it, the better."
The man nodded, his expression resolute. "You can count on me. I'll make sure my team stays quiet about all of this."
With a final nod, Ace and Lorna turned and headed back towards the HardTurbuler, their minds racing with the implications of what they had uncovered.
Ace and Lorna flew away on the HardTurbuler, leaving the compound behind. Lorna's brow was furrowed with concern as she turned to Ace.
"Do you really think the government is involved in all of this?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Ace shook his head, his grip tightening on the controls of the HardTurbuler. "I'm not sure, Lorna. My gut tells me there's something else going on here, something more sinister than just government oversight."
He paused, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "The way those aliens attacked, the way they disintegrated – it just doesn't add up. And the fact that they were after some kind of alien technology that the government was already studying? It's too much of a coincidence for my liking."
Lorna nodded, her own mind racing with the implications. "So what do we do now? How do we figure out what's really going on?"
Ace's eyes narrowed behind his helmet. "We need to dig deeper, find out more about this alien technology and why someone is so desperate to get their hands on it. And we need to do it carefully – whoever is behind this is clearly not afraid to use force to get what they want."
The HardTurbuler soared through the sky, its two riders united in their quest to uncover the truth and protect the innocent from the looming threat.
