A Rider Kick in Marvel ch 146

Ace Ukiyo, clad in his Kamen Rider armor, and Lorna Dane, known as Polaris, arrived at the research facility, their eyes sweeping over the scene of chaos. Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker, in their Spider-Woman and Spider-Man attires, stood alongside the mysterious figure in green armor, Mysterio.

"Rider, Polaris, this is Mysterio," Peter introduced, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "He says he can help us stop the alien threat."

Ace studied Mysterio with a discerning gaze, his helmet obscuring his expression. "What happened here?" he asked, his tone level.

Peter recounted the events – the sudden alien attack, the struggle to protect the suitcase they had retrieved, and Mysterio's timely intervention. "We're not sure what's in the suitcase, but the aliens were desperate to get their hands on it," he explained.

Lorna's brow furrowed as she listened intently. "And Mysterio claims he can help us?" she asked, her gaze shifting to the armored figure.

Mysterio stepped forward, his cape swishing with the movement. "Indeed, my friends," he said, his voice reverberating with a sense of gravity. "The suitcase contains the key to the aliens' technology and must not let them take it."

Ace eyed Mysterio suspiciously, his posture tense. He had heard of the illusionist in his previous life, and the man's grand claims did little to ease Ace's concerns. Ace couldn't help but wonder if Mysterio was the one behind the recent alien and lava monster attacks, using his mastery of illusions to orchestrate these events for some unknown purpose.

Ace knew Mysterio had a history of stealing advanced technology, and the suitcase the aliens had been so desperate to retrieve likely contained the key to their advanced capabilities. But Ace had no proof of Mysterio's involvement, and he couldn't risk exposing the villain's true nature without solid evidence.

Ace considered Mysterio's proposal, weighing the options carefully. Though the illusionist's claims raised his suspicions, he knew he couldn't afford to dismiss any potential leads in the face of the alien threat.

"Alright, Mysterio," Ace said, his voice modulated by the Kamen Rider armor. "What do you suggest we do with the suitcase?"

Mysterio's posture seemed to straighten, as if the Rider's acknowledgment had bolstered his confidence. "I have a secure facility where we can safely store the alien technology," he proclaimed. "There, I can study it and uncover its secrets, which may prove crucial in stopping the invasion."

Ace considered the proposition, his mind racing. While Mysterio's offer seemed reasonable, something about it didn't sit right with him. "That's generous of you, Mysterio," he replied, "but I think the technology would be safer in my hands."

Mysterio's head tilted slightly, as if surprised by Ace's response. "I must insist, Kamen Rider," he said, a hint of urgency in his voice. "I have extensive knowledge of the aliens and their technology. I am better equipped to safeguard it and uncover its secrets."

Ace's suspicion deepened at Mysterio's persistence. The illusionist's claims of expertise only made Ace more wary. "I appreciate your concern, Mysterio," he said, "but I have my own resources and capabilities to handle this technology securely."

The tension in the air was palpable as the two heroes faced off against the enigmatic figure in green. Ace knew he had to tread carefully, for he couldn't risk antagonizing Mysterio without solid evidence of his true intentions.

Seeing the tension between Ace and Mysterio, Peter stepped forward, raising his hands in a placating gesture. "Hold on, guys," he interjected, his voice calm and measured. "Why don't we all take a step back and consider the best way to handle this?"

Ace and Mysterio both turned their attention to the young hero, the contrast between their stances palpable. Ace's posture remained tense, while Mysterio's seemed to exude an air of confidence.

"I think Spider-Man's right," Gwen chimed in, her gaze darting between the two men. "We should work together on this. The suitcase is too important to risk."

Lorna nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with a mixture of uncertainty and determination. "Rider, maybe we could bring the suitcase back to your base," she suggested, her voice soft yet firm. "That way, we can all keep an eye on it and figure out the next steps."

Ace considered the proposal, his mind weighing the risks and benefits. While he remained skeptical of Mysterio's intentions, the idea of working together with his friends to secure the potentially dangerous alien technology had merit.

"Very well," Ace conceded, his voice modulated by the Kamen Rider armor. "We'll take the suitcase back to my base. But I'll be the one to handle it."

Mysterio seemed to hesitate, his gaze shifting between the group of heroes. Ultimately, he nodded, albeit with a hint of reluctance. "As you wish, Kamen Rider," he said, his tone measured. "I trust you'll keep me informed of any progress."

With a terse nod, Ace stepped forward and took possession of the suitcase, his grip firm and unwavering. Lorna, Gwen, and Peter fell into step beside him, their expressions a mix of relief and lingering concern.

The group parted ways with Mysterio, the illusionist's gaze following them as they departed. Ace couldn't shake the feeling that the enigmatic figure had something to hide, but for now, he was content to focus on securing the alien technology and unraveling the mysteries that surrounded it.

As they made their way back to Ace's base, the four heroes remained silent, each lost in their own thoughts. The weight of the suitcase in Ace's hands served as a constant reminder of the gravity of the situation they faced.

Upon arriving at Nascita, Ace led the group down to the subterranean control room, where Izu greeted them with a nod. "Ace, Polaris, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman," she acknowledged, her gaze settling on the suitcase. "I take it you've retrieved something of importance."

"Yes, Izu," Ace replied, his voice tinged with a hint of urgency. "We need to secure this suitcase and analyze its contents. The aliens were desperate to get their hands on it, and Mysterio claims it holds the key to their technology."

Izu's eyes widened slightly at the mention of Mysterio, but she quickly composed herself. "I see," she said, her fingers already flying across the holographic interface. "Ark is running a full diagnostic on the suitcase as we speak. We'll uncover its secrets, I assure you."

As Ark and Izu were scanning the suitcase, Gwen stepped forward, her brow furrowed with concern. "Ace, I couldn't help but notice the tension between you and Mysterio back there," she said, her voice laced with curiosity. "What's going on?"

Ace turned to face Gwen, the white lenses of his Kamen Rider helmet reflecting the dim light of the control room. "I don't trust Mysterio," he stated bluntly, his tone measured. "His sudden appearance and claims to be able to help us are just too convenient."

Peter, who had been silently observing the exchange, chimed in, "But Ace, maybe you're just being a little too paranoid? I mean, the guy did help us out back there."

Ace shifted his gaze to Peter, his posture remaining tense. "Perhaps," he conceded, "but I can't afford to take any chances, especially when the safety of the city is at stake."

Ace's words hung in the air, his conviction palpable. "I only trust the people here," he stated, his gaze sweeping across the faces of Peter, Gwen, and Lorna.

Hearing Ace's declaration, the trio felt a sense of pride and gratitude wash over them. Gwen's lips curved into a small smile, touched by Ace's trust in them. Peter's shoulders straightened, a subtle boost of confidence evident in his demeanor. Lorna, new to their circle, felt a warmth spread through her, grateful to be included in Ace's inner circle.

Peter, ever the peacemaker, spoke up. "Well, we're glad you trust us, Ace," he said, his voice laced with sincerity. "We're in this together, no matter what."

Gwen nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with determination. "Absolutely. You can count on us, Ace," she affirmed, her hand briefly brushing against his arm in a gesture of support.

Lorna, emboldened by Ace's trust, chimed in, "I may be new to all this, but I'm honored to be part of your team." Her green eyes met Ace's, a silent promise of loyalty and unwavering dedication.

Ace regarded his friends, the tension in his posture slowly dissipating. Though his concerns about Mysterio remained, he couldn't deny the comfort he found in their steadfast support. With a subtle nod, he acknowledged their words, knowing that he could rely on them in the challenges that lay ahead.
