Travel Quest!

Hope everyone is ready for a good New Year!

I've just uploaded a little bonus for this month in 000 New Files\101 HQ Pre-Built\Travel Quest

There's been a couple of sneak peeks over in the Discord of this tiny version of the board with peg/magnet holes to keep everything in place. I've been using pieces of 1.75mm filament as the peg glued into place and then cut the filament to size to fit in a hole (tool for getting the perfect length to come tomorrow).

The board is 409x303mm and split into 4 quarters for easy storage with each piece held together using the mini clips. The walls print separate from the floors to allow for quick paint masking and are then glued in place. I've also included some pre-supported horizontal printing floors so you can get a nice floor texture on such a small print.

With everything being so tiny I recommend using support discs to keep things in place.

I have a couple more scatter pieces and some more monsters that I'll upload early next week once I have them test printed. I'll also be do some design tweaks to make some full size versions of the new pieces so that they scale nicely with the standard size tiles.

I'm off out to watch some fireworks now so Happy New Year!!!

Or maybe a raft?

Sorry for this question, is a support disc the same as a brim. Having a real tough time keeping little things to stay put while printing especially the walls and doors

This is so awesome, but could you stop having great ideas, I'm still printing the back log of other great ideas

The 3mm x 1.5mm cylinder magnets should fit in. If they're a bit tight it's best to use a nail punch to get them in :)

The Dragon's Rest

Looks ideal for magnets! But sounds like you've made the holes smaller than 2mm?

Paul Panayis

You'll find them in Tools\Clip System v02\DRMCv2 Mini Clip :)

The Dragon's Rest

same?

Thank you for the quick reply, really appreciate it!

If you have very low angles on the top surface of a model you can start to see a topographic map effect due to the layer height you print at. If you print vertically the top of the tile becomes the side and you end up with smother final top surfaces once you lay the tile back down. It's very model dependant and on the size of the model you are printing too. I do try do design my top surfaces flat or with steep angles so you get a nice surface printing either way but with these mini tiles it really helps :)

The Dragon's Rest

Make sure you're not copy and pasting a space. Seems to happen a fair bit :)

Might be a dumb question but I'm quite new to 3D printing. I noticed that there is a variation for vertically printing the board. What would be the benefit of vertically printing these? Is this to be used for smaller printers where the pieces don't fit on the plate?

Bart Van Remortele

wrong password :(

Ignacio Ureta

so cute

Lindsey Deanshaw

Sorry had missed these on the upload. Just added them to the tools folder :)

Just added the files to 101 HQ Pre-Built\Travel Quest\TQ Board No Pegs Vertical Printing :)

The Dragon's Rest

is it possible to get a version without the holes, for vertical printing ?

Alexander Beisel

Funny :-)

Spielweltenschmiede

Love it!!!

GEORGIOS EMMANOUIL

Lol love the table with the mini HQ game so the Barbarian and the goblins can play a game off HQ before they take up the real fight. Thanks for all the cool designs this year, and hope you will make some off the rooms and structures for the HQ expansions in the comming year. Happy new year everyone 🎇

Love the table with the mini HQ board LOL!

You can just go to the new 000 New Files Folder and download just what you want from there. I'll set up another Dropbox account and test out syncing though as I'm not sure how it works on a shared folder.

The Dragon's Rest

Any idea how I can just sync only the new files you add to Dropbox?
